I am delighted with @azazaflores cinematography work, as it perfectly captures the essence I was hoping to convey. We used some wide 15mm lensbaby to achieve that amazing blur vignette.

BLEED - SHORT FILM Having read the script for the first time, I immediately wanted to explore the concept of the "superego as double" . Soon I began reading about Das Unheimliche (Sigmund Froid) "The Uncanny," Freud's definition is: uncanny as the class of frightening things that leads us back to what is known and familiar. My focus was on exploring the fear through the eyes of the young daughter as she saw the strange transformation of the familiar. I played around with the idea that repression acted as a function for revealing, uncovering or exposing private secrets. Loss of eyes as fear of castration; evil eye as manifestation of uncanny; super-ego as double were some of the themes that came to mind when designing the world of the film. Some behind the scenes from “BLEED” short film Looking back when I was directing this film I felt a lot of nostalgia, I was very lucky that I had the opportunity to create art alongside many talented friends. This film was the foundation of something deeper and stronger that any other project I did before. I didn’t just made a film , I created the best network of friends that today I can call my family. Y yo, como un marinero solitario dispuesto a bebérmelas completitas. No más historias de piratas. No más cuentos de sirenas. No más bestias en los rincones más oscuros de mi océano. En aquella mañana soleada la brisa del mar anunciaba un nuevo comienzo. Sin dudarlo decidí adentrarme en las calmadas aguas de azul marino. Nunca había sentido tanto frío en mis pies en un día soleado. Será acaso que a tu bahía mi corazón sigue anclado? Recuerdos tuyos de popa a proa, besos salados a babor, miradas profundas a estribor y algunas falsas promesas que no quisiera abordar. Sin brújula ni mapas y un tesoro perdido.
