Originally from Ukraine, Ganna discovered street dance forms over 20 years ago and developed a deep passion for House Dance. Based in Vancouver, she’s a member of the OURO Collective, Born II Boogie crew, and a former co-organizer of the Vancouver Street Dance Festival (VSDF), and Millennium Funk’n Battles. She has taught workshops, performed, battled, and judged across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. Through teaching, community work, and ongoing research, Ganna continues to celebrate and raise awareness of street/club dance forms, their culture and history.

📣 House Dance x Krump Exploration Workshop

Workshop description:
Led by @khoudia.roodia , @jsc_flame , and @_0ld_soul from Senegal, the KHOR dance company will offer a workshop exploring the techniques and shared values of the styles used by the company. With a focus on House dance and Krump, the company will present a parallel of these two styles to explore different ways of moving and nurturing creativity. Recognized in several international competitions (SummerDance Forever, Random Circles, Flavourama) worldwide and also in Africa (Ndadjee Street, Gainde Battle), this exchange will share the spirit of the training sessions and the Hip Hop community of Senegal, followed by a intimate talk and a jam to create a collective moment of reflection on our dance practice.

This 4 week progressive will focus on the foundations of Popping. Over the course of the progressive the goal is to cover around 16 topics (4 per week). Classes are open level, instruction will scaffolded and differentiated based on your level and experience. Students will be encouraged to take notes after each class and practice the material taught in preparation for the next class. At the end, we will check for understanding to determine future learning goals. Now let’s get it Popping!
