This Sunday, poet, performance artist and SİNEMA team member Ari Cottingham invites you to a -TOPIAS special screening of Satoshi Kon’s masterpiece Tokyo Godfathers.
Unflinching its portrayals of parental failings and tender in its characters’ bids for redemption, Tokyo Godfathers is a moving, chaotic, and profoundly humane anti-Christmas story.
As Ari states:
“As a queer immigrant, found family in a new country is intense, sometimes painful, and profoundly beautiful. This film doesn’t shy away from the painful parts of family that so many other films gloss over.”
The screening will be preceded by poetry reading from Berfusra and Bard Wildly.
Can’t make it this Sunday? There will be a second screening, without poetry reading, on Sunday 21.12. at 19:00!
