A few months ago, I had the pleasure of collaborating with @ourbureaux on the redesign of Igloo's website, the parent company of @pudgypenguins ⛷️🐧
I was tasked with developing the early art direction for the Arctic environment and the Igloo interactions featured on the site, as well as some identity and animation R&D.
Using Houdini’s powerful terrain tools, I created numerous iterations, working closely with the team to nail the perfect style.
Once we were happy with the concepts, I handed over the files to @ourbureaux , along with other assets like a procedural rock creator and rock shader, so their developers could work their magic!

Some outputs from the past months—a lot in the works, still cooking. Been quite busy, but quality takes time.
Feeling quite frustrated not putting out as much as I'd like to. Since I've been learning 3D and especially Houdini, my ability to finish personal projects have dropped.
The reality is that when you expect so much of yourself, you'll barely accept anything as finished. Things need so much polishing after you've already put a lot of work into production, and that's not even mentioning all the learning, optimization, glitch-fixing that goes into a project.
But when you know why you're doing it, there's nothing stopping you. It wouldn't be so fun if it wasn't so challenging. At the end, all that matters is focusing on your craft no matter what.

I had a blast taking part in the recent reveal of @ascendantvierge new concert with @glgth , working alongside an incredibly talented team including @chevalierperdu@holycomputer_@ls3dfx and @yndeavour ✨
My goal was to create the drapery simulations on specific letters. I handled them through Houdini tools like the Vellum brush, going for a few tries before getting the compositions right.
This was quite a challenge but we managed to get it through 🌠

I tried many things while working on this animation, but most of it looked like shit. That's the hard part of artistic creation. You gotta let go and accept that 90% you do will be garbage. I've always been very "precious" with what I produce. But you end up doing much less. Anway, I'm slowly feeling better about creating for the sake of "playing" now, rather than for the result.
Also ditching the reel format for now. Let's go back to some good cinemascope imagery.

After spending so much time on Houdini lately, I wanted to go back to simpler renders and cover basic techniques like modeling, glass rendering and photographic look.
The more I dive in a specific topic, the more I see how little I know. So much to cover, but so little time...
