A bit o' romance to end your week on.
Been a minute since it did the rounds, but my most recent animated short 'Speed' is now online following a run of showings by such fine folks as @Pictoplasma , @encounterssff , @mcranimation , @cardiffanimfest , @sommetsducinemadanimation , @linoleumfestival , @interfilm_berlin and @poffshorts among others.
Featuring a sterling performance of concentrated awfulness by my old pal Toby and made entirely using #AfterEffects + DUIK with the support of @shyguyshq during my time there.

Had this week earmarked to try and catch the incomparable @xmadmx on her UK jag, but alas Adventure Bay will fall apart without me (that's what happens when you hire dogs for all your city's emergency and civil service roles).
So instead I'm reminiscing with these pics I took of her blowing the fucking roof off @fleecebristol back in the day and devouring her signed (gracias @thesmallcitybookshop ) memoir. Double fisting with @roddybottum 's; both love letters to @courtneylove in their own way.

The Struwwelpeter vinyl rollout is complete (for now) with the 20th Anniversary Edition of my 2006 LP #agnosticaust.
Technically the third Struwwelpeter album but, until I have time to give the first two a bit of spit'n'polish, it's as far back as I'm willing to go as far as inflicting my processed caterwauling onto the public.
A little rough around the edges but made with a lot of love and some of the mid-00s Southampton indie music scene's finest. A lot of good memories.

That's 2025 almost completely in the rear-view. Very strange year of loss, health scares and that whole complete-collapse-of-civilisation thing, but the opportunities to spend time with friendly faces are always welcome. Here's to keeping one foot in front of the other 🥂
Odd little old man hobby I developed during my patches of off-time earlier in the year; Game Boy-specific sprite art made in knockoff Legos. Pleasantly meditative.

Last vinyl reissue of the year is 2010's The Book of Women, my one stab at an out-and-out high fructose pop record. Gambit had signs of paying off as it was the first to get real airplay, but the siren call of animation ultimately won out.
