Digital Triplet 👪 Side-by-side showing our Unreal Engine ⇄ TouchDesigner ⇄ DMX pipeline for the Necto installation at @labiennale . I built this workflow to design lighting animations and fixture layouts for the 100m² membrane before it physically existed. This enabled great collaboration and left plenty of room for us to play with on-site instead of just pixel mapping. Beautiful edit of our Necto installation at @labiennale by @maco_film_venice_london ✨ 6 months of collaboration across Tokyo 🗼, NYC 🗽, and Venice 🏛️. We built a shared digital model in Rhino, Unreal Engine, and TouchDesigner to design, preview, and run the final show. Big thanks to the experience design team: - @readyletsgo - Creative Direction - Noah Feehan (aka.farm)- Hardware Lead - @isofluff - Creative Tech - @marian_mentrup - Sound Design - @pamsaralee - Architectural Design - @ardakmukanova - Design Installing the final piece and calibrating knit, light and sound was a cornetti-fueled whirlwind. Building tools for projects gives me so much joy. A few things that made my last project easier: 1. LED-pitch visualizer to simulate how my particle system would look on our LED panels 2. Control panel to calibrate and visualize sensors, canvases, animation states, and override playback 3. Thermal camera driver and visualizer 4. Kinect point-cloud and body-tracking capture, so I can work without having to pose all the time 5. Signed distance field to map body parts in a point cloud to specific colors #touchdesigner #creativecodeart

When the debug visuals become the main concept: I've been working on a smooth curve rendered in #touchdesigner, and ended up liking the primordial soup aesthetic so much that I made a little ambient track for it. The end goal was to create bendable tubes using Seret Frennet or Parallel Transport frames.
