Aktivity původem kalifornské umělkyně Barbary Benish propojují umění s ochranou životního prostředí, feministický a pečující přístup ke krajině s vytvářením kreativních komunit a společenství a mezinárodní ekologická hnutí či konference se správou jednoho stěžejního místa ležícího na samotě v českém Pošumaví zvaného ArtMill. Na tomto bývalém mlýně založila Benish v roce 2004 eko-kulturní centrum a specifické místo s vlastní hlubokou historií se také stalo centrálním motivem autobiografického vyprávění v knize vydané nakladatelstvím ArtMap.
