It's been awhile since I went "out of office" at the Happiest Place On Earth to join the Marine Band, but today finally marks my official last day and transition from cast member back to guest at the Disneyland resort. It's incredibly difficult to sum up how much it has meant to me to work for The Walt Disney Company for the better part of a decade, but if you've ever met me, you might have an idea. From two kids fresh out of undergrad falling in love on King Arthur's Carousel, to playing trumpet on Main Street, U.S.A. with the Disneyland Band, and every other amazing moment along the way, my time at the parks has given me thousands of wonderful memories (and many close friendships) that I will continue to cherish forever. If you've rubbed elbows with me in any capacity at Disney or during my journey to get there, just know that you've been a positive force in changing my life.
Being a "regular" again is bittersweet, and I guess all good things must eventually come to an end. Nonetheless, I can confidently say that no matter the circumstances, every single day, coming to "work" was an absolute treat. To say it's been magical might sound a little cliché, but it's the honest truth. It was magical. 🏰
Time for some flying fingers! 🎺
Here’s a quick excerpt from the last movement - Rhythm of the City. This has been so fun looking back on this piece! I’m so grateful we had the opportunity to perform for the home crowd back at USC ✌️
Special shoutout to @mixerchristiannn for recording this performance.
