Hey peeps! I couldn’t resist this sound. This is one of my favorite movies. But anyways, I know doing the work is hard but it’s so worth it. If no one has told you lately I’m proud of you. & I’m rooting for you . Lastly shout out to @musclesbymya because my arms looks great 🍋 #dailyreels #affirmationoftheday #beneaththesurface

About 2 weeks ago I had the honor and privilege of hosting a panel @fullybloomedfest about wellness and self care. My heart is still so full from this opportunity to be in community with other women of color centering their wellness which is much needed in this world of chaos. This moment was a beautiful reminder of why I started beneath the surface, what it means to show up, and the significance of the work I get to do. Thank you @distineegayle@fullybloomedshop for not only having me but curating such a necessary space for women alike. You are impactful!
Just sharing a little about me and my practice. Hope to one day make a meaningful impact. I guess this is the first step 🥰 Actively accepting clients for private pay and sliding scale. Schedule your consultation today via my website in the bio! #dmvtherapist
Stop going to therapy with the expectation that all your problems or concerns will be resolved just because you’re going to therapy. You’re placing an unfair expectation on yourself and your relationship. Think of therapy like the gym, it takes times to see long lasting results. & those results come from a variety of factors such as consistency, openness, vulnerability, reflection, time, effort. I can go on all day. #therapy #mentalhealth #mentalwellness
Friends can definitely be safe spaces for many people. But they are not your therapist. healthy friendships have boundaries and when one person becomes the “therapist” friend it can leave friendships feeling unbalanced. Maybe it’s time to call that therapist you have been avoiding. #therapy #mentalwellness #boundaries
I’ve always been ambitious but when I decided to pursue becoming a mental health therapist it definitely felt like the road less traveled. I personally didn’t know anyone who took my same path and many didn’t understand it. But whenever anyone asks me, I make sure to tell them I know this is what I was called to do. Here are a few things I have learned since embracing my own journey:
1. You were called to do this, stop waiting on others approval
2. No one else has to get it but you
3. You will make sacrifices but it will be worth it
4. Recognizing your power isn’t always easy
5. Stop comparing yourself to everyone else
6. You’re anxious because you are out of alignment
