GREAT first session with @brierjensen2028 today at the ranch. We worked hurdles first focusing on good trail leg mechanics and tall posture. Then unto block starts over two with a special focus on the first four steps! We ended with high jump from a three step approach focusing on going up first as opposed to diving into the bar. Overall a really good session for an athlete who I think could be a very good Heptathlete at the collegiate level. #trackcoach #heptathlontraining

Great first session with @em_volleygirl_2031 ! She is a VERY athletic seventh grader running her first season of track. We worked on front-side mechanics first and then did some acceleration/start work. For the starts, we followed a progression - falling start, three point start and finally block starts. I will not progress middle school athletes to block starts until I feel they are strong enough to handle it. The reality is most are not and should stick with two or three point starts. Emerson was the exception and was able to hit triple double extension with the correct the shin angle šŸ“ to make a block start worthwhile. Look out for her this coming Tuesday!

BAD breakfast club GOES off at the Pomona Invite with BOTH first place šŸ„‡ finishes AND meet records! @madeline.clark07 with a 2:09.30 800M win, @prestonmozer with a 21.35 200M win and @addyson.smith2026 with 23.86 200M win (in addition to her 11.90 100M win). All three have been training in the BAD system for over a year. I will be forming training groups this summer (June start) for looking to get better and/or competitive meeting at Nike, NB or JO’s. I will offer three groups. A SPRINT group, a HURDLE group and one I am excited about - a combined events training group for those athletes looking to compete in a Heptathlon or Decathlon this summer. #trackcoach

Road to @wmac2026 continues. Hurdles and block starts today. In the past, I would not really practice my block starts enough before competitions. And trust me as you age block starts get HARDER! Working on projecting the hips forward and hitting the right angles….. #masterstrackandfield #decathalete #iamgoingtodaegu

Great hurdle session today with @realkelseyblack . She is in middle school but we are building the foundations for her to be a successful hurdler! Did some drilling first the moved to quick 3 step drill, standing starts and block starts over hurdles. The session focus was proper arm movement and a tight trail leg motion. I LOVE coaching young hurdlers because it’s exciting to see them start to master good hurdle technique. Bonus - it helps me coach beginning college Multis because I use the same progression! #hurdles #hurdlecoach

Jumps workout. Drills first then some 3 step HJ and short approach LJ. I like to finish my jump workouts with Javelin given the similarities. Beautiful Colorado day to get outside and get some work done! The road to @wmac2026 continues…..

Short Approach PV work today at the ranch. With my coaching hat on I can find LOTS of things wrong with this jump……not the best plant, never got my hips fully inverted…..but as a masters athlete you have to be happy with the EFFORT. You have to be happy knowing most of your peers would never attempt to jump. The training for the Decathlon @wmac2026 continues! #decathlon #masterstrackandfield

Beautiful day to get some Jav and Disc work in at the ranch. Got back today from a great weekend coaching at the MW Indoor Championships, and the real training for the decathlon @wmac2026 begins! Very rusty in both events but felt good to get outside and get some work in.
