My day was dramatic…
I went about my #journo business as usual because it was supposed to be Nigeria's Democracy Day, but Nigeria happened....
Most importantly, I'm fine guys. Thank you all for checking in on me.
@tompreserve247 (my cameraman) you were brave today

“One month ago, in the heat of the #EndBadGovernance protests across Nigeria, my team and I experienced the real dangers of reporting on the frontlines.
While covering the protest in Ojota, Lagos, we were attacked by hoodlums. The police had moved us away from the designated protest area, claiming our interviews were drawing in more protesters. Minutes after they left, the attackers arrived.
Though no one was seriously injured, this was a harsh reminder: Being a journalist in Nigeria can be life-threatening.
We filed an official report with the state commissioner of police. Yet, one month later, despite the attackers’ faces being broadcast live and shared widely, no one has been held accountable.
But let’s be clear: We will not be silenced.
Press freedom is non-negotiable, and we will continue to stand for truth, justice, and accountability.

Dearest gentle reader (I’ve always wanted to do that 🙃).
It’s been Seven years in the newsroom, and the story is still unfolding.
I walked into News Central when it all began, with a quiet determination to tell stories that matter. (There were just two desktop computers in the newsroom when we started. See how far we’ve come 🙂).
Today, I look back at the risks, the growth, the lessons, and the moments that tested everything I thought I knew.
From the streets of Lagos to global conversations on international stages, this journey has stretched me, refined me, and reminded me why journalism matters.
Grateful for the trust.Grateful for the people.Grateful for every story that found me.
The newsroom has been both battlefield and family, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Super proud of what I’ve built so far, but the best part is, there are even greater things ahead.

Recently, the story of the Wilson family made it to my LinkedIn timeline. They are an American family living in Nigeria who adopted Nigerian children — only to find themselves unable to return home because of new U.S. visa restrictions affecting several countries, including Nigeria.
What should have been a story of love became one of waiting, uncertainty, and resilience.
This is the human side of immigration policy — beyond paperwork and politics. Real parents. Real children. Real lives placed on pause by decisions made thousands of miles away.
These are the stories behind the headlines that need to be told.
Have travel or visa policies ever affected you or someone you know? Let me know in the comment section.
This is also my first post of 2026, so here’s wishing you a year of purpose, growth, impact, and stories that truly matter.
Here’s to a meaningful and prosperous 2026 🤍

This is not just a story — it’s the reality of some Nigerians.
I travelled to Eruku, Kwara State — where three lives were cut short and 38 people were kidnapped in one terrifying night.
The kidnapped victims have since been recovered, but the trauma still lingers.
This 11-minute special report exposes the pain behind the headlines, the silence after the cameras leave, and the questions still begging for answers.
Insecurity is now some people’s reality, and it hits differently when you see it from close range.

“Some experiences stay with you — this was one of them.
It’s been a little over a month since the United Nations General Assembly in New York, but this one still feels special.
Not because it was my second time covering it… but because this time, I wasn’t just reporting from the global stage — I was on it.
At the SDG Media Zone, I had the honor of moderating a live session with @ndidinwuneli on “A New Vision for Health Financing in Africa.” What an amazing force she is.
And at the SDG Goals Lounge, I joined by @therealjennz — to talk about “Reframing the SDGs: Africa’s Voice, Media’s Power, and Impactful Narratives.”
These moments reminded me that storytelling is more than just news — it’s how we shape how the world sees Africa: bold, innovative, and full of promise.
For me, this wasn’t just another assignment. It was a huge step in my broadcasting journey — purpose meeting opportunity, right there in New York.

Ever been ignored on camera? 🎥
Welcome to the life of a TV reporter.
Getting dignitaries to stop and speak isn’t easy. Some walk right past, others smile and say, “I’m busy.” But if there’s one thing journalism has taught me—it’s that persistence pays. 💡
At the 80th UN General Assembly in New York, Nigeria’s Vice President didn’t stop for an interview after his speech. Tough moment. But I didn’t quit. I kept trying—until the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, graciously gave us the interview that mattered.
Rejection is part of the process. Persistence gets the story.
Thank you @visualsbysamcee for capturing the moment.
🎤 Reporters, what’s your most unforgettable “ignored on camera” moment?

Benin, Oshogbo, Lekki, Sharm El-Sheikh, Ojodu, Offatedo, Victoria Island, Yenagoa, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Jos, New York, Accra, Kumasi, Kano, Ikoyi, Maiduguri.
The last three years have been quite a roller coaster. Lots of moving around for work and family functions.
