At the end of last month, Mario and Benito of @eldestinocoffee arrived in Shanghai for a short pop-up @brewislandcoffee
They stepped into the space and said—
it felt like home.
Salsa played softly.
They brewed their own geisha, moving gently with the rhythm, serving each cup with quiet attention.
Now, we meet again in Boquete.
High altitude, forest, scattered coffee trees.
A place they call Sky Lot.
We walk.
We taste ripe cherries—orange blossom, strawberry, Papaya, mango.
And somewhere along the way, it becomes clear:
They are not chasing coffee.
They are living with it.

We were absolutely blown away by the love for Finca El Destino! ☕️✨ In just 6 hours at our pop-up, we served nearly 60 pour-over cups, and all the beans were gone in a flash – we had to rush back and roast another batch overnight just to keep up.
Most people came back for a second cup, and some even had three 😳 Everyone fell for the elegant, vibrant, and energetic character coffee from Finca El Destino.

Finca El Destino is a project initiated with passion by Benito Bermúdez and Mario Castrellón. After years of experience in the restaurant, café, and roasting industries, they decided to establish their own coffee estate in the Horqueta region of Boquete.
Driven by their passion for exploring flavors and the sensory expertise gained from the culinary and roasting fields, they aim to bring fresh perspectives to coffee processing techniques and sustainable farming practices.
Bringing the chef’s and roaster’s sensitivity to flavor and detail into estate management, they continually experiment with new production methods each season, seeking to capture the terroir of Horqueta in every cup.
Mario and Benito will be visiting Shanghai Brew Island Coffee to share their coffee stories in person and talk about the new season’s coffee.
During this tasting event, three signature lots from the estate will be presented:
Destino Lot 6 — Natural
Destino Lot 18 — Honey
BOP GW 14 — Four Terra (Best of Panama Auction Lot)
They will also bring samples of the new season’s coffee to share the latest explorations in terroir and processing.
This is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand the stories behind the estate—from daily life on the farm to the craft of coffee production.
