From Entre Amigas by Yuriyana Club, Ursula and Sarah unpack how AI-generated “perfect” women and hegemonic beauty ideals become a lens we measure ourselves through. Sarah names the engine behind it: monetization—a system that distorts and homogenizes the feminine, with the biggest impact landing on young people.

From Entre Amigas by Yuriyana Club, Ursula points to a paradox we rarely question: we’re taught to admire nature’s cycles—things aging, changing, returning to the earth—yet we’re conditioned to withdraw that same appreciation from aging bodies, especially women’s. If appreciation is learned and cultural, it can be re-learned.

From Entre Amigas by Yuriyana Club, Sarah shares her “tumultuous” relationship with beauty—and reframes it as something deeper than aesthetics: a form of attention and appreciation shaped by who’s looking. If beauty is subjective, what changes when we stop treating it like a verdict?

From Entre Amigas by Yuriyana Club, Sarah asks the question beneath every “beauty standard”: who has the power to set it—and who has the privilege to change it? When the same voices keep defining the feminine, the “ideal” isn’t neutral… it’s curated.

From Entre Amigas by Yuriyana Club, Ursula reframes beauty standards as something historical—not holy: they move with power, place, and time. If the “ideal” keeps changing, what’s really driving the compulsive chase for it?

YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD.
Too broken. Too much. Too little. Too big.
Too late. Too early. Too small. Too young.
DECOLONIZE YOUR MIND.
Keep reading if you want to know more…
The last 2 years have been scrappy.
I’ve experienced some unprecedented challenges and some human life shit.
I’m not terminally unique-but/and/also I found myself face down in the mud y’all.
Maybe someday I’ll talk about it.
Or write about it.
Or art about it.
But no mud, no lotus.
This is my life.
Strength training has been a spiritual practice passed down to me by my father.
It feels ancestral.
In the midst of all these intense changes in my life I wanted a more intensional practice. Something I could measure, something concrete. Clarity and competency hold my attention deeply these days.
I’d never been to a powerlifting meet, let alone competed.
I simply made the decision to sign up.
While I’d been strength training with incredible trainers since July, I’ve really only been training for a powerlifting competition for 8 weeks!
It feels good to be brand new. It feels like magic to experience muscle adaptation.
The skills I’m developing are transferable and transformative.
I was a baby on that platform-
but I’ve learned to lift my own weights and not compare myself to other lifters.
I watched women nearly 30 years my senior, half my size, lift weights that I dream of lifting.
Inspired is a gross understatement.
It feels reductive and cliche.
I was supported by strangers.
I felt the room vibrate with hype and cheers-
Our RTL crew are not humans that know my life story, they know very little about me in fact and yet there they were, giving me stage whispers. Redirecting me when I made mistakes, shoveling weights on bars so I could warm up-pouring baby powder on my legs, giving me sparkly gems to stick on my face, offering me snacks, screaming my name, taking pics, answering all of my newbie questions, fist bumping me, singing songs with me and shaking our asses on the sidelines.
I’m humbled. I felt a biological and spiritual change that I’m still metabolizing.
I think I might be a power lifter now 🤔
What dreams may come…
💚We are all just walking each other through this life aren’t we?
Creating space for some adolescent humans in their healing program to simply express and create, was an honor.
They were moving through some pain and I invited them to answer the question “what do you want to remember about yourself?”
Who are they aside from their diagnoses, clinical labels…
What do you want to be known about you?
Zine making is easy magic.
It’s not polished or precious but organic and gritty, sometimes beautiful sometimes impossibly brutal like our lives.
Swipe through and have a look.
Creating something is often the antidote to the bondage of self đź’š
It has been a minute since I’ve felt like this💚
Some scenes from a showcase featuring the art and poetry of my student creatives from an afterschool program with @art_simplicated and @influence_a_life
I was honored to be the program coordinator and collab with these 2 extraordinary community based creatives (who also happen to be 2 humans I love very much)
The theme was belonging…we even published a zine called Inclusive Art ya’ll🤯
Full of student work! Written and organized by the kiddos!!!
A lot of love and hard work poured into this experience.
Here’s your glimpse of some magic-in a world that has us weary, let this light in ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Community over competition.
Inclusivity over exclusivity.
