What am I getting into now?
Today, I'm assisting with mural commissions. Oftentimes I run into people I know and they say "You are everywhere!" or "Now what are you getting into?" Truthfully, this has been my way of life for as long as I can remember. I wouldn't like it if I had to do the same thing everyday. I don't get bored very easily but I do like variety and a little challenge with my work. Part of it is ADHD, part of is the fact that I have a creative mind and I thrive most in creative spaces. Part of it also that my most formative years were chaos. Either way it has served me well and I am grateful. Age & wear and tear is slowing me down a bit but I'm still here doing the things I love most. That means a lot!

We had a great turnout during East End Community Clean Up Day. There were four different sites with Mt. Growmore being just one. Over 50 people showed up to this site to clean up and help to paint with us for PCUBP. Shout out to @alramirez0871 of @build.bptfromwithin for making this happen. Thank you to @jpoart and OPED our partners in paint for securing the supplies. Thank you to every single person who showed up to help us paint today. Thank you to Debb Sims of @eastendmarketcafe for your dedication and vision. As always, thank you to @fccfoundation_ct for supporting us through the arts in equity grant. @art_simplicated was the lead artist to get this done. We'll be back next week to finish it up.

For the past nine years, we’ve hosted Jane’s Walks, celebrating the unique ways people experience, move through, and connect with our Downtown.
This walk will be led by Alicia Cobb, artist of Art Simplicated, leader of BACC, and Chair of the DSSD SEM Committee. Together, we’ll explore Downtown through the lens of Jane Jacobs’ human-centered, community-first approach to design.
Along the way, we’ll highlight the impact of recently installed public art, the evolving uses of historic buildings, and the many layers of purpose these spaces have held over time. After the walk, we’ll gather for lunch at a favorite local spot to keep the conversation going.

This Saturday, April 18th come paint with us! As part of the East End Community Cleanup, the BACC is working with @art_simplicated to lead a public art project as part of the Park City Urban Beautification project. The site is Mt. Growmore where we will be painting three Jersey Barriers. Come prepared to paint and get a little messy. All supplies will be provided, no experience required. The East End is on the move and working hard to create a happier, healthier East End!

Accountability check in. I’m back from vacation, rested and committed to staying on track. I am not a content creator so bear with me as I continue to figure out what this looks like for me. This young lady was sketched over a year ago and I found her hiding out while I was cleaning up for open studios a few weeks ago. I decided to lay some paint on her skin and hair today.
