When second-hand information becomes misconstrued, the person who shared it must face the consequences of their own actions.

Here to finally share my first ever short film that I created last year for my final major project: The Good Wife’s Guide 👰🏼🔪 🫀
This project was by far my favourite of my time at Uni - and by far the most challenging! I learnt SO much about the elements that go into production, and the highs and lows of trying to make a small film with no budget, limited time and a team of 3 (including me and the leading lady).
I thoroughly enjoyed the research that went behind this film, including my dissertation essay exploring the trope of the ‘housewife’ in film and TV.
Inspired by media such as ‘The Stepford Wives’, ‘Mad Men’ and the work of Nadia Lee Cohen, the film portrays Cynthia Sherman; a 1950s suburban housewife whose ‘picture perfect’ facade begins to unravel. It explores the theme of the uncanny valley in relation to female identity and the impossible standards set for the so-called ‘perfect woman’.
