Eat good, feel good is at the core of @ikigai.nyc because this Japanese kaiseki restaurant is a nonprofit. This is the only not for profit restaurant I’ve ever been to, where this team donates its proceeds to @rescuingleftovercuisine , an organization that fights food waste and redistributes excess food to those facing food insecurity. The meal starts off in their tea garden room, where you can relax and unwind from the busy city before heading to their main dining room for a 12-course meal that uses what’s in season to create a modern Japanese meal with Polish influences from chef @rafal_maslankiewicz . Chef Rafal has worked at fine dining restaurants like Masa and Eleven Madison Park, and he brings his master technique into this flavorful and meaningful menu.

@emmysquaredpizza loves education ❤️
More than just a pizza team, they are really focused on community and education with an amazing #befedbehappy worthy initiative: “Emmy Loves Education 2022, a national campaign which will provide school supplies for local students at their nearby public schools. As part of this community effort, guests are invited to participate by contributing a donation of $3, $5, or $10 dollars to their check when dining at their local Emmy Squared Pizza restaurant or ordering online via Emmy Squared website. For a duration during the summer, each guest’s donation will go towards the purchase of subject notebooks, packs of #2 pencils, loose-leaf paper, colored pencils, ballpoint pens, and more; all the essentials a student will need to achieve academic excellence inside the classroom. Additionally, Emmy Squared Pizza is donating 1,000 backpacks to compliment the school supplies and will be donated to nearby local public schools.”
TODAY only, when you get the @shakeshack x @barsardinenyc burger 🍔 collab, all net proceeds will go to @roar.ny (Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants), a #missiondriven community working to financially support local restaurants and their workers, while also creating a path for a sustainable future for the New York #hospitalityindustry ❤️
So go per-order on the @shakeshack app, get to Madison Square Park, and eat deliciousness so close to the heart of New York while simultaneously doing good.
Thank you @randygarutti , @gabestulman , @john_karangis and @mark_rosati for coming together for this incredibly special collaboration. #befedbehappy

It’s hard to be generous during difficult times, but I believe it’s in these challenges that we need generosity most. ❤️ Click the link in my bio (bit.ly/befedbehappy) to read why being generous is more than just about money, and how we can #giveback today on #GivingTuesdayNow and be generous in general 🙏🏼 my hope is always that as we feed our appetites, we’d also stay hungry to feed our soul and feed others. #befedbehappy #givingtuesday .

As an Asian American, I LOVE seeing increased awareness and adoration of Asian culture through food, and I’ve been so happy with the progression and increased visibility over the past few years. Similar to the noodles in this video, just as quickly as it’s risen, it’s devastating to see how quickly many Asian businesses plummet down and are now struggling (especially in Chinatowns across the US) because people are scared they’ll get coronavirus from these establishments. I 100% understand the concern surrounding this virus: its spread, our lack of full knowledge, etc. But to avoid Asian establishments right now is, in my opinion, ignorance. And to treat Asian people differently because of this virus is racism. With COVID-19 officially being present in the US, we should all be practicing sanitary precautions ANYWHERE we go. You are not at higher risk of contracting a virus by eating at an Asian restaurant or supporting an Asian establishment. In general, let’s all wash our hands more often than we currently do, and take the full 20 seconds to do so. If you have time to scroll on social media for hours, you have time to wash your hands properly. Although beautiful, stop touching your face in public. Wipe down and disinfect your phones at the end of the day. Whether you’re sick or have allergies, cover your coughs and sneezes. And most of all, let’s please be kind and loving to one another. The unknown and uncertainty are scary, but it’s no excuse to be ignorant or treat others poorly. Lastly, I’d also encourage you to not live your life in fear: “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”(2 Timothy 1:7 ESV). Be smart and sanitary, of course, but live your life fully. I’m choosing to stay informed and updated from reliable sources (like CDC.gov and trusted news outlets), while also continuing to live my life normally as planned. I will not let fear of rule my decisions. And I hope you won’t let it either. #befedbehappy
From my devotion the other day, but I’ve always believed this. Real love is an action and a commitment we make to ourselves and others to love. Choose to love yourself. Choose to love those around you. - “it’s easier to act your way into a feeling than feel your way into an action. If you act in a loving way, eventually the feelings will follow. . . . When you love in spite of your feelings, that’s called loving by faith. And it doesn’t just change the other person. It changes you, too, and makes your more like Jesus” #befedbehappy #feedyoursoul

“You’re not sitting where you’re sitting by accident. You haven’t had the experiences in your life by chance. God designed your life to make a difference in the world.” - this was in my @dailyhope devotion today, and I think it’s a really great way to start thinking about this year. We can always do better, be better, etc. We make resolutions to do so. And while goals and resolutions are good, our confidence or our success shouldn’t be measured by by our ability to get there. We have to simply be available to change - available and open to allow God to work in our lives to do great things beyond what we could imagine for ourselves 💗 #befedbehappy #feedyoursoul #dailyhope #devotional
