Swampling have their second ever show coming up on Friday, 13 March at @vondelbunker , at the kind invitation of @local.pollution . It's donation on the door, so come through from 20:00 to catch us alongside some other acts. Grouped together as experimentalist genre-misfits who long to play instruments together, Swampling (@slintaholic ) is a band making forlorn music that echoes with lo-fi distortion and harrowed melodies. Featuring members from @delage_music , Mortgage, @nancy__phantom , and @yodel.queen , Swampling's post-whatever yes-but-no wave leanings are polluted by elements of spiritual jazz, polite grunge, Mediafire rock 'n' roll, Irish traditional, and shoegaze. The band is currently made up of Josefina Gilardi (@jjjosefinag ) on flute, Till Hormann (@till_m.hormann ) on saxophone and guitar, Ben Tupper (@beentoopugh ) on drums, Meis Vranken (@macymeissie ) on bass, and Aidan Wall (@aidowall ) on guitar and vocals. Come through next Friday! Sadly Till is away for the show, but c'est la vie (en rose). Jose has a show with Nancy Phantom the following night, and the night after that, Meis hosts some artists at Plantage Dok!

in 2021 i decided to go back (move forward?) to my first love, the drums, and set myself a goal of getting into music school and studying music full time. fast forward to july 2025 and i’ve just finished my first year on the jazz & pop department at utrechts conservatorium. as well as a dump of moments from this last year (hilariously none that actually feature me playing), first and foremost this is a post of gratitude to all those that supported me up until this point in more ways than i can list here. a special shoutout has to go to @robinnho at @drumschoolrobin who not only provided me with the lessons and feedback that helped me reach this point, but also trusted in me to take on a teaching position at his school. oh and since it was two and a half years since my last post, shoutout to tottenham hotspur for winning the europa league. 17th i don’t know how… 1) benito mode 2) pre-audition note 👍 3) thodoris’ first winter in the netherlands 4) 💆‍♂️ 5) sam getting the crowd on side 6) new charlie parker just dropped 7) spooky school concert hall 8) id please? 9) does it even sound good? 10) double chiel! 11) project week midi controller 12) blurry deniz bday pic 13) feeling great before my end of year exam!

📶🎧New radio series alert! @user00000017 and I have recently been working on 'lawaai' for @relativaradio ’s Oct22-Feb23 programme. You can listen to the first episode tonight at 8pm CEST on radiorelativa.eu. Expect plenty of dust, delay and stormy weather. Lawaai is a radio series by Javier Rodriguez and Ben Tupper that experiments with soundscape creation. By using various sampling methods such as playing records by rotating them by hand and collecting field recordings of music played in cars, the shows play with how spatial context affects the listening to and creation of audio. @user00000017 on the episode artwork.
