On the Frontier of Humanness attempts to answer the age old question βWhat does it mean to be human?β through a beloved human-verifying device: CAPTCHA. As AI becomes smarter, CAPTCHAs become harder, and bots are increasingly better than us at basic math, what can we cling to in order to tell us weβre really human? (spoiler: for me, itβs Robert Pattinson)

Re: is a collection of coffee table books I designed for my favourite coming-of-age manga series from childhood. Part of the project was designing a wordmark and icons for each of the series. The original sweater design (last slide) was meant to showcase the wordmarks.
this went through several revisions and visits to the print shop over the course of a week. it also like. cost a lot. but it was very satisfying to hold it in my hands π€ππ
camera roll collection: lobster
i used to think lobster was overused. but if you think about it, the most accessible materials form the basis of what is standard π
this collection was passively accumulated over 1 year, 4 countries, and 6 cities.
a little documentation of my first crochet flower bouquet before it went to its new home (^: I don't recommend starting one a week before you plan to give it as a gift, but the late nights were definitely worth it.
also I saw that article about moodboards and sameness in design where they collected a bunch of images with a blue sky bg. I thought about it while taking these photos.
google photos compiles photo collections for me based on my gallery. but what if I did it myself?

here's a project I had lots of fun with: the Anti-Travel Travel Guide!
There are plenty of reasons why people might cancel their vacation plans (for example, a global pandemic). Made up of only one and two star reviews of some of the most popular destinations on TripAdvisor, this guide aims to reassure people the vacation they missed wasn't going to be that great anyway.
Design-wise, this book features handdrawn type and illustration over royalty-free stock photos. It also has some typical features of travel guides: colour coded sections that are visible from the exterior, a pocketable size (5x7'), and an index. What does this index contain? Probably nothing you were looking for, but "hot dog" does appear twice.
both copies pictured were bound by yours truly π no hate to signatures but guillotining single page book blocks >>>>
