Every December, my siblings and I would get a small Christmas clothes allowance. For me, that was the event of the year, I’ve always understood the power of a great outfit.
One year, I spent my entire budget on a single pair of grey suede Skechers platforms because the Spice Girls had taken over my life. While my siblings stepped out in full new looks, I wore my old jeans and T-shirt with those shoes, proud, with some tears of envy for my siblings’ full fits but completely obsessed. I wore them until they fell apart.
Those memories shaped my relationship with style: how clothes hold stories, how they mark seasons in our lives, how they bring families together.
So when @we_are_ayana asked me to direct their summer campaign, I knew the story had to centre around siblings. December. Nostalgia. That fleeting moment when family, love, and style meet in the same frame.
This campaign is a celebration of that feeling, the way traditions evolve as we grow, the way new memories are made, and the way fashion becomes a quiet witness to it all.
As we enter the festive season, my wish is simple: that we choose love, whether given or chosen and show up for it beautifully. In connection. In joy. In style. 🤍
