Weeks posts
Thank you to everyone who submitted work with honesty, intention, and vulnerability. Your pieces challenged us, moved us, and expanded the conversation in powerful ways. In the coming weeks, we’ll share selected artists and works from the exhibition. *WE SET OUR TERMS: A Black Erotic Praxis — Power • Consent • Liberation* extends beyond the walls, with workshops, performances, artist talks, and public programming exploring autonomy, intimacy, consent, and liberation. This work lives at the intersection of public art, health, and equity—centering power, care, pleasure, and self-definition. 🖤 Opening Reception May 15, 2026 🖤 Juneteenth Program June 19, 2026 Presented by Be Connected Durham & Beyond in partnership with Zeitgeist Gallery & Bar, with artistic lead Gemynii. More soon.

WE SET OUR TERMS is open now at Zeitgeist Gallery & Bar, Durham — and we need your support to take it through July. More than 20 artists. First-time exhibitors alongside established voices. An intergenerational range of expression rooted in liberation, consent, health equity, and embodied power. Art sold on opening night. The community showed up. Now we need $35,000 to fully fund the run. Swipe through. Then donate. Link in bio. *Sponsorship Opportunities Available* Email: [email protected] with Subject: WSOT Sponsorship Opportunities This exhibition not a distraction when the world is on fire. It is a throughway and a community connector. Video: The courtyard at Zeitgeist Gallery & Bar features THE FANTASY RODEO, a seven-minute short film looped throughout the exhibit. THE FANTASY RODEO is created, produced, and directed by @tacheinvela and @rastaaslimeyy @zeitgeist_durham | May–July 2026 | 725 N Magnum St, Durham #WeSetOurTerms #beconnecteddurham #durhamnc #zeitgeist

🍻 Our Black Women’s History Month work-in-progress screening of This Belongs to Us was exactly what it needed to be—in real conversation with the people. The film has already made its WiP debut at Sundance, and to experience it here in Durham, in community, felt right. The conversation? 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Filmmaker Atinuke “Tinu” Diver and brewmaster Briana Brake of Spaceway Brewing brought depth, clarity, and truth. Angel Iset held the room with precision as a formidable interviewer right alongside them. Deep gratitude to @candycarver for creating the opportunity through Focus on Blooming during Women’s History Month, and to @thatfamousamos for holding space on historic Black Wall Street. Alignment. Work-in-progress screenings are critical. This is where culture is shaped in real time, where stories are refined, witnessed, and held accountable to the people they come from. Briana Brake is building something that shifts an entire industry. Your investment is critical. Check our profile for the Spaceway Brewing Wefunder and help push this $50K goal over the line. This is what it looks like when we document, build, and back our own at the same time. #film #durhamnc #arts #culture #beer 🍻 Videos: E. Joy Ward and JAC x @wonderpuff
