Pipers Playhouse wasn’t just a show, but an entire dazzling experience from the moment you walked in. Cheeky confession corners, roving edible bubbles, a jazz band setting the mood. 🍾💋 With the crème de la crème of cabaret, burlesque, jazz and circus artistry this was such a highlight and one of the most polished variety nights I’ve seen. Save this for your next night out! 💃 @pipersplayhouse.crown is a Parisian style cabaret club hidden inside @crownmelbourne . It’s a full immersive experience with live jazz, burlesque, circus, magic and vocals all happening across the room, not just one stage. It starts the second you walk in with peep shows, confession booths. Press the button for champagne and you’ll get a glass of @piper_heidsieck handed to you through a curtain.. by a bear?! The show runs for around 2 hours, with performers moving through the space and sometimes right past your table, so it always feels engaging. It’s cheeky, chaotic and definitely one to go into with a sense of humour. We had oysters, a lobster cocktail and dessert - a shoe made entirely of white chocolate, berries and cream (amazing!). Once the show wraps up, it turns into a late night piano bar with song requests and that part is completely free entry, so you can stay and keep the night going. 🎵 It was meant to end in April but has been extended until May 30 due to popular demand - personally I think it should be permanent! Expect a mix of burlesque, jazz, circus and live performance, with Champagne flowing and a moody, late-night energy. I won’t give too much away but it’s immersive so you’re not just watching the show. There are hidden corners, a hall of mirrors and plenty of moments that catch you off guard. The night is hosted by drag superstar @jimithekween , with headline performances from Miss Burlesque Australia @dieseldarling_ , @becky.bubble , @valerie_hex & @mrmarmalademagic so the talent is seriously strong.
