"The thin place" is out now on @nastymagazine ⁣ ⁣ “In this series I photographed famed Irish actress Olwen Fouéré, named one the greatest Irish artists, in and around her childhood home in Connemara, on Ireland’s Atlantic coast. The house sits beside a tidal island — a landscape shaped by disappearance and return. The project grew from the idea of “thin places”: locations where the boundary between worlds is believed to become permeable."⁣ ⁣ Photographer & Creative Director & Stylist: @beccageden ⁣ Talent: @olwenfouere ⁣ ⁣ Full story on our website!

Alienation A KALTBLUT exclusive. "Feeling slightly alien has become a familiar condition of contemporary life. We move through systems of aspiration built long before us, chasing promises that feel increasingly distant, out of this world. This series draws on the visual language of the American diner, a symbol of mid-century optimism and aspiration. Seen from today, that polished vision of the future feels nostalgic, almost surreal .." Last set from my exclusive for @nastymagazine ‘The Thin Place’ featuring @olwenfouere 🤍 A massive thank you for all the love and support I have received on these, it means the world to me! This series was rooted in the landscape of Olwen’s childhood home in Connemara — a coastline shaped by tide, water, wind, and return. These boundary points between elements are often described as “thin places,” where the physical and the unknown begin to overlap. Time leaves its mark here, as it does on all of us: wrinkles in the land shaped by water and wind, traces of memory and endurance, the slow shaping of self and place. Olwen is a shapeshifter in presence and practice, she moves outside of convention, and there’s a real sense of independence and authorship in how she holds herself. Capturing her in the place that formed her created a dialogue between body, memory, and land. The styling I chose pulls from both mythology and the domestic — a feathered cape referencing swan mythologies, a dress made from human hair, and moments inside the home where lace doilies and chains sit in tension with society, expectation and the act of pushing beyond them. Lots of love to the amazing designers I got to include in this @elaobrazymoda @il_bambolina & @sashadonnellanstudio Full story on Nasty Magazine Creative director, Photographer & Stylist: @beccageden Talent: @olwenfouere Brands/designers: @elaobrazymoda @il_bambolina @sashadonnellanstudio and a dress by me @beccageden Assistants: @matthewgeden & Josh Cotter

The Thin Place I made this series with Olwen Fouéré in and around her childhood home in Connemara, on the Atlantic coast of Ireland — a place shaped by tide, memory and mythology. Water felt central to the work — as a vessel, a threshold, something that connects rather than separates. Coastlines, where land gives way to sea, have long been understood as “thin places,” where boundaries soften and other worlds feel closer. References to the sea were included in use of feathers, pearls and hagstones. Working in a landscape that has clearly informed her life and work, I wanted to explore what it means to return to a place that formed you. The series draws on ideas of transformation and “thin places,” where boundaries feel less fixed — between land and sea, past and present, the physical and something more instinctive. Sinead Gorey (@sineadgoreylondon ) usually trades in a certain side of London’s nightlife: hectic and eccentric raves, an environment idyllic to some and unreachable to others. But the brand’s latest collection comes from a more mundane part of the city’s nocturnal ecosystem, the pub. “Nothing beats being wedged round a sticky table with your girls on a Friday, pint in hand, pretending you’re good at pool,” said Sinead Gorey. “Maybe it’s the half-Irish thing, maybe it’s just in my DNA – some people meditate, I go to the boozer.” The pub is perhaps the superior third space. There is no archetype of person for whom the pub is unsuitable. When attending a rave, we know we ought to conform to a certain aesthetic, a vibe, a specific taste. None of that applies to the pub, a nonchalant, low-effort communal space that unites people of all lifestyles. And such (stylish) nonchalance is exactly what transpires from Gorey’s latest collection. Read the full article at the link in bio.
