Nearly five months of fabrication, three weeks installing, and almost a year to the day since being awarded the commission, it’s done! “Coalescence” is a 14x20 foot ceramic and porcelain mosaic composed of 3659 hand drawn pieces (plus thousands more square tesserae) covering the entire surface of a pedestrian bridge in Laguna Beach, California. The image represents the unique natural character of Laguna, the meeting of the ocean and canyon environments. Huge thanks to all the friends and family that helped with the installation, and special shout out to Mark the tile installer for leading us through the trials and tribulations of getting this thing into the ground! 🙏🏻👏🏻😵🌈🐚🌼 #mosaic #ceramic #porcelain #lagunabeach

Final photos of the work completed in August for @buffaloakgartmuseum The mural references some of Buffalo’s iconic architectural treasures including the stained glass ceiling from the council chambers at city hall and one of the eight caryatid sculptures adorning the Albright Knox Museum’s exterior, originally commissioned for the Pan American Exposition in 1901 sculpted by Guilded Age master Augustus St Gaudens. In this version the figure holds a Corinthian column capital that has started to sprout new growth of local regional flora, a fitting metaphor for this beautiful city that’s been enjoying a period of restoration and renewal. 🌸🌿🪷🌅⛲️

The recently completed eight story work in France for @grenoblestreetartfest “An Onerous Embrace” The image references the ancient myth of the Abduction of Persephone, created in marble by Bernini during the Renaissance. In this version the interaction of the figures are meant to represent the human impulse (and futility) to control and tame the natural world. Side note: Grenoble was named the 2022 European Green Capitol for its pioneering actions transitioning to a sustainable future. It’s also probably the most bike friendly city I’ve ever been to 👌🏼

“In Pursuit of Knowledge” at the Asbury Park Public Library. Planned over a year ago, the new mural at @asburyparklibrary is the first new artwork added to the space in over a century⛵️🔥💡📚 The building is a rare gem filled with many original architectural details as well as artifacts from Asbury Park’s past. I could not resist an opportunity to reference elements from the historic library’s circa 1890’s stained glass windows, reinterpreting segments of the Tiffany Studio window that includes references to the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem “Tegner’s Drapa.” Always a pleasure to work with @woodenwallsproject @_juicyjenn and the great library staff at APPL 🙏🏻

🎉🎨 Happy New York State Mural Day! 🎨🎉 Check out the brand-new video highlighting Albany’s CHARM Murals, filmed by Rogue FX, the in-house production team of Youth FX (@youthfxfilm )! Thank you @albanycentergallery for a great evening at this year’s annual gala fundraiser 🍾 If you’re not familiar with Albany Center Gallery they are a 47 year old non-profit that exists solely to support artists in the New York region and to bring “More Art Everywhere” as their motto goes. These people are tip top 👌🏼 I recently had the pleasure to work with them on my most recent mural in Albany “A Journey Woven Through Time” and look forward to the next project together in the future!

🎨 Multidisciplinary, renowned artist Beau Stanton (@beaustanton ) drew inspiration from Albany’s architecture, history, and vibrant art scene to bring a new large-scale mural to life at Quackenbush Garage in downtown Albany. Titled "A Journey Woven Through Time," the work reflects the city’s past, present, and future—telling a story that invites reflection and connection. We recently caught up with Beau to discuss this latest masterpiece, his time in Albany, and what it meant to him to contribute to this project. 💫 👏 This mural was made possible by Albany Center Gallery (@albanycentergallery ), the New York State Council on the Arts (@nyscouncilonthearts ) — with the support of the Office of the Governor (@govkathyhochul ) and the New York State Legislature — and the Albany Parking Authority (@parkalbany ). Additional thanks to the City of Albany, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan (@albanymayorkathysheehan ), and Downtown Albany for their ongoing support of public art. This mural is part of the Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals (CHARM) program, through which ACG was selected as 1 of 11 organizations across New York State to create large-scale public murals. There is more public art Downtown today than even a year ago, and we highly encourage you to throw on a jacket, grab a hot beverage, and explore it for yourself! You might just see the city in a whole new light. ✨ Public Art: Just Another Way Downtown Is #AlbToTheCore

Thanks again Albany! 🏵️⚓️🌀 In partnership with New York State Council for the Arts (@nyscouncilonthearts ), artist Beau Stanton @beaustanton ), and Albany Parking Authority (@parkalbany ), Albany Center Gallery is excited to present “A Journey Woven Through Time”! * From the artist Beau: “This piece is designed as a bridge between the past and present, drawing on Albany’s rich history and an optimistic future. Flowing layers echo the nearby Hudson river with finished and unfinished ornamented stone carved designs sourced from local architecture alluding to an unfinished story. Natural endemic flora blossom out of the stonework to symbolize new growth out of the old foundations while the central element, a ship emerging from the dynamic confluence of these components, speaks to an ongoing journey of exploration and discovery in our modern era.” ° Located on the Quackenbush Garage, facing I-787 and the Hudson River in Downtown Albany This mural is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. I love an opportunity to weave some local history into the work. This recent wall is located just a few blocks from the 100 year old electric railway arches built by Henry Ford to supply his factories in Detroit. The rail line only operated for a few years but the concrete and steel relics remain over a century later. Thanks @muralpeople @oh.colors @allenparkdowntown for the fun opportunity!
