Our weekly practice is FREE and open to EVERYONE that is 18 and over. All backgrounds, all level of experience.
We are a community band. Samba for us has been a fantastic way to meet new people across all walks of life!
While some of us have played music before, the majority of us have not. We show everyone the ropes when it comes to playing Brazilian samba!
We will throw you into the deep end at the start and, while it may seem scary, we eventually find our feet (and the groove!). Be patient with yourself. The rewards are innumerable!
Once you're comfortable playing some of our tunes, you can join us for one of our many community parades, shows, or raids!
So ditch the Thursday night doom scrolling and Netflix binges, and join us instead for some unapologetic, roaring samba groove making.

We’re excited to welcome our friend @gbr.lopes Gabriel Lopes back to the Beat Carnival Centre for our annual Samba Masterclass on Sat 16th & Sun 17th May.
Across two days, we’ll dive into fresh samba arrangements, explore instrument technique, and enjoy the buzz of making beautiful music together.
This masterclass is designed for people with some experience in samba percussion or general percussion.
£50 per person (limited spaces remain)

We’re hosting our annual Samba masterclass at the Beat Carnival Centre in Belfast on Sat 16th & Sun 17th May with our old friend @Gabriel Lopes . Over 2 days we’ll be looking at new samba arrangements, delving into instrument technique and playing beautiful music together! This masterclass is aimed at those with some knowledge of samba percussion or percussion in general (unfortunately it’s not suitable for complete beginners, come join BEATnDRUM on Thursdays for that!).
