We are excited to announce that we will be joining @commongroundfarm at their plant sale on Saturday, May 9. The sale will run from noon to 4 PM at the @hudsonvalleybrewery In keeping with our mission to make native plants affordable and accessible, we will be offering a large selection of perennials and starter shrubs. A sampling of the perennials include butterfly weed, slender mountain mint, monarda, and wild geranium. Starter shrubs include serviceberry, witch hazel, ninebark, chokeberry and flowering dogwood to name just a small selection of our offerings this year. Common Ground will be offering their full selection of farm grown vegetables and perennials. In keeping with Common Ground’s mission to expand access to fresh food, they will offer farmer-grown vegetable, herb, and annual flower seedlings.

Our next pollinator meet-up will be October 22 at 7pm at the Beacon Recreation Center at 23 West Center Street. Meeting begins at 7pm! Join us as we welcome Kyra Stoddart, who is starting an initiative to address Japanese Knotweed. She has been successful in eradicating her knotweed and has done a lot of research! (Please note the correct address of the beacon recreation center is 23 West Center Street - image address is incorrect)

A few weeks back between snow storms, we planted our seeds at Hiddenbrooke. They are certainly enjoying the full range of winter weather this year! There are 17 different varieties of plants and we are hopeful that these hardy seeds will make it through the winter. We are very eager to see what happens this spring!

After months of planning, our pollinator pathway at Hiddenbrooke is now underway! This week brought a lot of change. We laid cardboard, spread compost and began mulching the pathway through the plot. Big thanks to all the volunteers who helped out this weekend! We’re also super grateful to @cityofbeaconrecreation for helping us in planning and spreading and delivering wood chips and compost! Follow along to see all the progress at this site. 🌼
