I woke up today overcome with gratitude. Thank you to everyone how came out to Jamestown Arts Center Friday evening to help @dskinsel and I celebrate the openings of Bohemian Ossuary and Bloodstone + Home! ~ I’m so grateful for the warm welcome you extended to this new work, for the thoughts you shared with me on what you are absorbing from it and from the thoughtful and enlightening questions you asked. ~ I am grateful for all of the folks who played a role in bringing this work into the world; my show partner DS Kinsel our curator @brooke.erin.goldstein the installation, education and exhibition teams at @jamestownartscenter my son and studio assistant Noah Lequerica, my family and friends who held me down, co-worked with me, and nourished my body and spirit over the past three years the work was gestating, my studio-mates at Warp Collective, residency staff and cohorts at @csreabrown @surfpoint.me and @massmocastudios whose critiques and feedback supported and shaped the work as it emerged, the mounting and framing support of @providencepictureframe and @stevenlubecki , postcard printing support from Formatt Printing and Vistaprint, and my photography printing and framing team @iolabs 🩸 Bloodstone + Home will be on view until November 8! Hello, I am Becci Davis. My studio, WARP Collective, just started our first group residency at the Wedding Cake House. I am a mother and conceptual artist who finds inspiration in nature, archives, memory, connection to place, and the complexities of belonging. My research-based practice centers photography, video, collage, and text. Over the next ten days, I’ll be facilitating an envisioning exercise with my studio mates and using the results to develop a new series of postcard prints. This work is inspired by DAWN, a piece I created exactly one year ago and it will mark the 6th postcard project I’ve created since 2018. I’ll also be working on some new collages while I’m here. I’m excited to share more about each body of work and how I use collage and postcard design as world-building practices. It’s been a blast creating stories to share with you today! Thank you for following along and thanks to @weddingcakehouse_residencies for creating such a warm and inspiring space to dream and create! Saturday held so much complexity for me. I said goodbye to Bloodstone + Home and marked the 28th anniversary of my twin flame’s passing. Enough time has passed for me to grow into an adult all over again and in many ways I have. I’m filled with gratitude for the 19 years he was present as a nurturing, supportive and loving force in my life. I’m humbled by the 28 years his presence in the ancestral realm has been a source of guidance and protection. Thank you for continuing to provide a sense of safety, belonging and love for me. Thank you to everyone who met me with compassion, care, kindness and love over this past week. It helped me in more ways than you know and more deeply than I can articulate.

 Kinselland Radio is a vinyl-driven sonic experience by artist couple DS & Anqwenique Kinsel. Listening to their hearts and trusting their hands to guide the groove, the duo pulls deep cuts across classical, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and retro pop from the family archive. Their live sets—rooted in African American art of the twentieth century—have been heard at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Carnegie Museum of Art, Oasis Lounge, Apteka, Ace Hotel, and in a six-month residency at Con Alma.
