But have you found your dark horse yet? 🐎 Hong Kong live art platform Per.Platform invites five local artist collectives and independent art spaces to enter the track in a playful “Horse Racing.” No actual horses—just artists racing for your support. Each collective will make a quick pitch about who they are, what they do, and the wild artistic dreams they hope to realize next. Then it’s your turn: place your bets and back the collective you believe in. Your “wager” helps raise funds for Hong Kong’s independent art scene beyond the commercial gallery world. Back the winning “horse,” and you might trot home with a mysterious little gift. 🎁 Come cheer, bet, and discover the bold, slightly chaotic, and always surprising world of Hong Kong’s independent art collectives. Thank you so much to everyone who joined Between Waves last month. 🌊 It was our very first event in the studio, and also the first collaborative performance and curated programme by Johnny @johnnyaukw and Momo @momomapy . Yet, definitions only gave us headaches—perhaps a sign to take a dose of B-Complex. Before the neon green flushes like a quiet alarm, it reminds us of the seven heads and hearts we carry within, of something shared but never fully claimed. ‘B-Complex,’ — our inaugural group exhibition showcasing the individual artworks of our collective members, and also a timestamp: one year since the formation of B-Complex. This show is not a quest to uncover common ground, but a witnessing of our divergences and intersections through the realms of creation, connection, and relation. For the first time as a B-Complex Project, we step away from a collective approach and focus on our own practices. Yet, there remains an unseen thread intertwining between us. / 攝時間 : 拓嚟拓去 B-complex 集體項目展示 日期：23/8/2025 - 18/9/2025 地點：香港灣仔軒尼詩道365–367號富德樓12樓-14樓後樓梯 開幕及工作室開放：23/8/2025 (星期六）4 - 8 PM，富德樓11樓 B-complex 《攝時間：拓嚟拓去》 是 B-Complex 的第二個集體項目。 「攝時間」系列是一個持續進行的計劃，透過不同行動，成員暫時脫離個人的日常軌道，將更多練習與創作的機會「攝」進我們的時間軸中。 在這次計劃中，七位成員以隨手可得的紙與鉛筆，在日常生活中重新與周遭的環境接軌。透過重複拓印以另類的方式感知環境，揭示空間中被忽略的細節。成員們將不同質感與形態重新組合，構出對空間的感覺與想像。 最終，作品將呈現在第十二至十四樓「後樓梯」的空間。在這個非地方，人們只會短暫停留、用以過渡的空間。累積下來的拓印將被重新組織，嘗試將環境轉化為一個想像場域，人在遊走其中時，彷彿同時穿梭於多種空間的詮釋之中。 作品會持續於展示期間變動。 場地贊助：艺鵠 @artandcultureoutreach - Timestamp: Rub-ish B-complex collective project showcase Date: 23/8/2025 - 18/9/2025 Venue: Staircase, 12/F-14/F, Foo Tak Building, 365–367 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Opening & Open Studio: 23/8/2025 (Sat) 4 - 8 PM, B-complex, 11/F, Foo tak Building ‘Timestamp: Rub-ish’ marks B-Complex’s second collective project. The ‘Timestamp’ series is an ongoing journey, a way of stepping momentarily off the trajectories of daily life,“stamping” more opportunities for practice and creation into our timeline. In this chapter, seven members work with nothing more than paper and pencils to reconnect with their surroundings. Through the repeated act of rubbing, they encounter the environment in unfamiliar ways, drawing out the overlooked textures and quiet details embedded in space. Fragments of surface and form are reassembled, composing new impressions and imagined landscapes. The work takes shape in the back staircase between the 12th and 14th floors, a non-place, a threshold where people pass quickly or linger only for a moment. Here, the accumulated frottages will be reconstructed, transforming the site into an imagined realm. Moving through it, one drifts between overlapping interpretations of place, as if inhabiting several worlds at once. The installation will continue to evolve over the duration of the showcase. The effortlessness of jumping sets up the framework for daily ‘practice’, would this seemingly meaningless act be transformed by repetition? This simplest idea was put to test in the past 31 days, with each ringing alarm, we get back to practice, knowing we’ll be in the air together.
