This years Olympus Rally was our best rally in a long time! We hadn't competed at this event since 2023 so it was great to make it to the end 4th in NA4WD and 10th overall in the regional group. The only real damage we had was a right front puncture on the first pass of Deckerville which finished off the already failing wheel bearing. We couldn't be happier with the result and how well the car performed. Thank you to all of the organizers, volunteers and sponsors who made this event so special! Big shoutout to my wife and my parents who kept our services smooth and made sure we had everything we needed to make it to the end. This is a rally we will never forget! @olympusrally@ara_rally #olympusrally2026 #olympusrally #ararally #americanrallyassociation 4th video credit to KieranSudoG4 Facebook
The 2024 Mike Nagle rallysprint was an awesome event! The road had great traction all day and had a great mix of technical corners. Unfortunately we could not get all 4 runs in since some local person decided to be difficult to the volunteers. We had a great time regardless and my wife @sydneyburt_ did an amazing job codriving at her first rally! I threw a lot of new things at her mid stage and she even had to submit an inquiry for a timing issue. She handled everything very confidently and helped the day go very smoothly for us. The car is still in good shape and should just need a little maintenance to get ready for the next race. We can’t wait to be back to it next year! Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers who made this event happen! #bbracingteam #oregonrallygroup #mikenaglerallysprint #mikenaglerally #nwrallylife #rally #rallycar
We are all packed and ready for the Mike Nagle Rallysprint tomorrow! My wife @sydneyburt_ will be in the right seat for the first time and we are both very excited to see what she can do! Can’t wait to be back on the roads we tested on way back in 2022. #bbracingteam #oregonrallygroup #nwrallylife #rally #rallysprint #usrally
This years @tourdeforestrally was short but very exciting! To the Towers was a lot more rough than I remember from 2019. We did not get off to the best start this year. About 8 minutes into the first stage we got very lucky and avoided a rather bad crash. After watching the in car video again I saw several stumps that could’ve made the situation much worse! We also stopped just short of a fairly deep hole that we might’ve had a hard time driving out. After that our pace and rhythm struggled. We made the most of the day and had a great time sliding around the forest. It felt good to be back after a year off! Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers who made this event happen! Also if any of the volunteers who were working at the corner where we spun out have videos of it, we would love to see them!
Time for a quick life update since it’s been about a year since I’ve posted anything and a lot has happened. In May I got married to the absolute best girl in the entire world! In June we went on an amazing road trip honeymoon down to California. In July we bought our first house. Shortly after we moved in, I went to work at my first wildfire in Stehekin. Then when I came home in August I realized it was time to get serious about getting the car ready to race again! There’s lots of other things that happened along the way but those are some of the highlights. It’s safe to say this has been one of the busiest years of my life but it has definitely been my favorite. I am so lucky to have my incredible wife by my side through all of these adventures! I can’t wait to see where we go in the near future. Now it’s time to get back to racing! Can’t wait to see everyone at @tourdeforestrally
2023 end of season recap. Two years ago we set a goal to complete every stage of every west regional rally in 2023. We knew it was going to be a huge challenge but we were well prepared to deal with almost anything that came our way. Olympus, Oregon Trail and Rally Colorado went very well for us. The only real damage to the car was caused by driver error at Oregon Trail which destroyed a control arm, top mount and windshield. The car was perfect all year until going to Prescott. Our kill switch decided to quit working on the way to the first stage. We limped through and made it to the second stage time control where the car died. After getting towed out we worked all night trying to diagnose it but couldn’t make sense of the issues we were seeing. We didn’t figure it out until the Tuesday before Tour de Forest. We checked the resistance and found 1.5 mega ohms across the kill switch. New switch installed and we were ready to race. The stages were new to us and they are definitely some of our new favorites! After Colorado we realized that a good finish at Prescott and TDF could secure a second place spot in the West NA4WD points championship. It was a bit of a sad moment when those hopes ended with a DNF and a DNS in Prescott. Looking back on this year gets us very excited for our next attempt at a full west regional season. We may not be the fastest or the most well funded team but the car is incredibly tough and we know how to fix anything that comes up. We are determined to make a season like this happen again. Our crew, my dad, mom, fiancé and my navigators fiancé are truly what keeps this team going. We couldn’t do any of this without them! Thanks to all of the organizers and volunteers who make these rallies happen! It truly takes the best people to bring everything together and give us the chance to do the greatest form of racing in the world! Stage 5 from Rally Colorado. Super fun roads and great views! Can’t wait to do this event again! #bbracingteam #wavespecrotors #redstartracing #americanrallyassociation #rallycolorado
Rally Colorado 2023 was a very successful race for us! We made it through without any mechanical issues or off road excursions and we ended up third in class! This is our second ever podium finish in the very competitive NA4WD class. This was our first time at this rally and we loved it! Thanks to all of the volunteers, organizers and EMTs who make this rally happen and keep us safe! And of course thanks to my awesome crew (mom and fiancé) for keeping us hydrated and fed at service! We will definitely be back to this event again! #bbracingteam #wavespecrotors #redstartracing #rallycolorado #americanrallyassociation #usrally #rangleycolorado #rally #rallycar #subaru #impreza #gc8 #podium
Having fun on these roads at Rally Colorado! Looking forward to day 2! #bbracingteam #wavespecrotors #redstartracing #americanrallyassociation #rallycolorado
Thanks @pnw.photography.film for catching this photo of us going over the famous Boyd Loop jump! First pass we played it safe with a small 30 foot jump. Second pass we pushed a bit harder and hit 60 feet. Now that we know how the car handles the landing we can push it a lot harder next time! Can’t wait to do it again! #bbracingteam #wavespecrotors #oregontrailrally #ara_rally #usrally #subaru #jump
Last Friday night we were sliding in our cars…could be a song. Our first Oregon Trail Rally is in the books! We made it through all three days without any major issues. One bad corner on stage 4 took out the right lower control arm and cracked the windshield. It was a simple driving error. I overestimated our speed coming into it and turned in way too early. We finished the stage, also hit 95 mph with a ruined control arm, and made it back to service. All of the other stages were pretty much drama free. Everything else held together and we had a great time! Our biggest accomplishment was taking off 14 seconds on our second pass of Starveout! We finished 5th in NA4WD and 15th overall regionally. Thanks to all of the volunteers and organizers who made this event happen. It wouldn’t be possible without you! Also huge thanks to our sponsors RL Smith Logging and @wavespecrotors . The brakes never gave us any issues and took an unbelievable amount of abuse! I’m impressed by them at every rally. Time to get cleaned up and ready for Colorado in July. #bbracingteam #wavespecrotors #oregontrailrally #ara_rally #usrally #rally #rallycar #subaru
