Thank you very much to everybody who visited our studios during Spring Ouseburn Open Studios. We really enjoyed meeting you and chatting with you. Winter Ouseburn Open Studios will happen in late November 2026. There will be even more studios open with more art and design to enjoy. We hope you’ll visit again and bring family and friends with you. It’s a very sociable weekend. If you want to buy or commission something in the meantime, please contact the artist or designer-maker to arrange a private appointment. Thank you very much to everyone who visited us for Spring @ouseburnopenstudios on the 9th and 10th May 2026. We enjoyed interesting conversations and were delighted that so many visitors were visiting us for the first time. We hope you’ll visit again - and encourage your friends and family to visit - during our Winter Ouseburn Open Studios in late November when there will be more studios open, more artists and designer-makers to meet. In the meantime, if you want to buy or commission something from an artist you met before Winter open studios, please get in touch with them to arrange a private appointment.

We’re open again today around 10am (one or two may open a bit later) until 5pm (one or two may close earlier). The weather is much brighter and far less likely to rain today. Our B.Box Studios have central heating so we don’t have just a warm welcome but actual heat. Today you can see jewellery makers at work, lots of paintings, prints, handmade books. Ouseburn is a great place for a relaxed Sunday wander. Have brunch or lunch or afternoon tea in between studio visits. There’s @theouseburnmarket on today, off Stepney Bank, behind Northern Print. Find us down the steps or ramp (pedestrians & cyclists) on Stoddart Street - just past @thebiscuitfactoryne - or turn right on Boyd Street, just past @ernest.ouseburn , and we’re up at the top of Bermondsey Street on the left (admire the street art on the way). Our building is white and black. Did you know that B.Box Studios is one of the Biscuits? There are also talented artists and designers in the @biscuitfactorystudiosnewcastle next door and also along the road in the @thebiscuittinstudios at the bottom of Warwick Street. We’re also not far from @36lime which is open from 11am to 4pm today.

We’re open today and tomorrow for Spring @ouseburnopenstudios - free entry! You will be able to browse paintings, prints, drawings, handmade textiles, jewellery, and more. Much of the work will be for sale, and some offer cards, calendars and small gifts. Not all the artists have card machines to take payments but there’s a cash machine nearby at the Tesco Express if you need more cash. Some of our artists and designer-makers will be happy to consider commissions and some offer workshops, so it’s a good opportunity to meet them and find out more. Find us down the steps or ramp (pedestrians & cyclists) on Stoddart Street, just past @thebiscuitfactoryne or up at the top of Bermondsey Street on the left (admire the street art on the way). Judy Appleby - @judy.appleby - captures the structures of buildings and within landscapes as well as the colours in her work. She offers high quality printed versions of some of her paintings. Her subjects include streets with orange trees in Spain, historical buildings such as Lindisfarne Castle, Scottish distilleries, and St James’s Park football stadium. We would love to see you on Saturday 9th May and Sunday 10th May 2026. Our building will be open from 10am to 5pm and entry is free. It’s usually a relaxed vibe in B.Box Studios during Spring Ouseburn Open Studios, giving you plenty of time to browse, chat, find out about workshops or commissioning something special. @claireehakin is open on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2026 from 10am to 5pm. She offers paintings, drawings, handmade prints and cards. Her paintings are colourful with bold brushwork. Her landscapes depict the North of England, Derbyshire and Normandy, and include coastal scenes (some with people enjoying the beach). Her still life paintings bring together flowers, fruit and objects in lively compositions. Claire also paints portraits, and would consider commissions for portraits, landscapes, or still life paintings.
