Look who I ran into in Emergency - fellow trail builder and @shore.sirens rider Emelie, who luckily didn’t break her elbow . I on the other hand, did break my hip- wheel went sideways on a landing and I otb’d .First hard crash since I broke my wrist 2&1/2 years ago. Good news is that I don’t need surgery and I’ll have plenty of time to spend at the gym. There’s always an upside 😊
Flashback Friday!
Lower A-Line(Whistler) around 2008, just before my 60th bday . I loved this bike - 2006 Specialized Demo 8 that I bought from @obsessionbikes - Fox 40’s, Hope brakes… No logos on the fork lowers because I had to get them replaced. I was chasing my friend @diesel2dirt down Goat’s Gully and I blew a tricky corner( before it was fixed up). Bryan looked up and saw my bike cartwheeling through the trees and the lowers got punctured.
When I got a trail bike around 2012, I hardly ever rode my Demo- it was so fun to be back pedalling uphill again , on a light bike. After hanging in the garage for a few years I decided to sell it but when a 15 year old girl came with her dad to look at it , I had to donate it to this future downhiller . She sent me a photo of herself riding some woodwork on Fromme. I loved that. 🥰
Farewell Oaxaca. What a memorable trip - delicious food, stellar guiding, lovely Oaxacan citizens , yummy Margaritas….

My mom always told me that it’s important to have friends and “playmates” of all ages, especially those younger , as you get older. Most of my biking pals are 25-30 years younger than me, so I am very thankful for their inclusiveness, camaraderie, encouragement….❤️

Grab those sunny days when you can. The roots and rocks might be a bit slippery but fall/winter riding is so fun and a great training ground- just think how confident you’re going to feel when it dries out . 🤩
