Tomorrow at @zellaspizzeria come to the reception for “Sowebo Streets: 40 Years of Street Photography in Southwest Baltimore” with a whole wall from the great @marthacoopergram who will be in town for the reception, plus lots of really great pics from @shae.mccoy.photos@joshsisk@wendelpatrickofficialmusic@mylesmichelin@cthomas_2020@ciminobridget@bacidath and many more. I curated the show mainly for the chance to be able to fill the walls of my local with stuff that I like and I hoped my neighbors would find pictures of the neighborhood compelling as well. But when Martha agreed to show some of the photos she took in in the neighborhood between ~2005 and 2015, it brought it to an entirely new level. I spent a day with her in New York (which I hope to write about soon) and now she will be here, back in the neighborhood tomorrow. So come on out and join us at 6:00 pm, check out some amazing work, talk to the photographers, celebrate the weird and ragged beauty of the neighborhood and maybe buy some work.
