🌅MY 2ND ALBUM, RIVERS, IS OUT TODAY🌅
I made RIVERS mostly between July 2022 and February 2024. I wanted to make an album about my cousin Harrison but after failed attempts at writing those songs, I decided to let go of direction and just make something I liked. Making music has always felt like a mysterious thing. Spiritual. Like you don’t choose the songs, they choose you. My home studio sat beside a river in Maine. I envisioned songs flowing through it. Between recording I’d take long walks beside the river. I watched it change through the seasons. It flows into another river that passes the town I grew up in. We spread the ashes of our family in that river. It deepens and widens and curves around. I saw days and years flow by. I saw my dad laughing. I saw my grandparents younger than me. I saw Harrison swimming. I saw everything stand still. A new color. Pouring out into the endless ocean.

Some sea compositions from the last year.
I started making these during a writing retreat as a way to take a break from writing but still do something creative and loose. Fun to not really think and just make.
*Let me know if you got any creative practices that help you get out of your head
