PHOTO LONDON | Join us this week at Photo London to discover the work of Baud Postma, who has been shortlisted for the Nikon Emerging Photographer Award 2026. Our presentation at the fair includes new works from the artists iconic ‘Death of the Author’ series, which was first unveiled as part of the artist’s solo show at Canopy Collections HQ in July 2025. These works open a dialogue between the past, present and future of photography, inviting viewers to consider how new technologies might coexist with traditional practices. PHOTO LONDON | Join us this week at Photo London, Booth I03, to discover the latest work of @baudpostma . In his series “Death of the Author”, Postma uses AI as a tool for conceptual enquiry, generating images through text-to-image platforms and then subjecting them to analogue interventions. These works open a dialogue between the past, present and future of photography, inviting viewers to consider how new technologies might coexist with traditional practices. The choice of the Cowboy as subject matter provides a potent metaphor for the AI revolution: on one hand representing ideals of freedom, opportunity and self-determination; on the other, invoking histories of exploitation and extreme cultural upheaval. Blurring the boundaries between human intention and machine interpretation, he invites viewers to reconsider what it means today to “take a photograph.”

PHOTO LONDON | From 13—17 May, Canopy Collections will be exhibiting at @photolondonfair for the first time, with new works from Baud Postma’s acclaimed “Death of the Author” series. Conceptually rich and visually captivating, these new pieces continue Postma’s ongoing interrogation of authorship, image-making, and the meaning of photography in relation to new AI-driven technologies. Postma’s work is held in international private collections. He has exhibited at Photo London; Paris Photo; The Royal Academy of Arts, London; The National Portrait Gallery, London. He has also collaborated with numerous fashion brands including JW Anderson, Burberry, Dries Van Noten, Chanel, Erdem and Paul Smith. PHOTO LONDON | We are delighted to announce our debut participation in @photolondonfair , with a solo exhibition by @baudpostma . Our booth will bring together a selection of new works from his internationally acclaimed « Death of the Author » series, which we first unveiled at Canopy Collections HQ last summer. The presentation will feature as part of the Source section, curated by @lund_tristan . Baud Postma is a photographer known for his labour-intensive, technical approach to large-format photography. In his latest body of work, « Death of the Author », he turns to AI as a tool for conceptual enquiry. The resulting works exist in dialogue with the past, present, and future of photography, prompting viewers to consider how emerging technologies might coexist with traditional practices, and what it means today to ‘take a photograph’. ART AT HOME | Baud Postma is a photographer known for his labour-intensive, technical approach to large-format photography. Over the past decade, he has developed a distinctive visual language, creating images defined by their singular texture and colour palette. His ongoing series « A Slow Dance », which begun during the 2020 lockdown, grew from the simple act of bringing flowers into his London home. With unexpected time available, he observed each bloom closely, capturing their gradual unfolding and subtle movements in shifting light. Postma’s work is held in international private collections. He has exhibited at Photo London; Photo Paris, The Royal Academy of Arts, The National Portrait Gallery, London; Print Space, London. He has also collaborated with numerous fashion brands including JW Anderson, Burberry, Dries Van Noten, Chanel, Erdem and Paul Smith. In 2025, Canopy Collections curated his first solo exhibition, titled « Baud Postma: Cowboys & Flowers ».

Balthasar Van Der Ast, Vase with a single Tulip, 1625. One of my favourite paintings at the Maurithuis (one of my favourite Museums). While not a direct reference for my image on the next slide (Yellow Tulip), it demonstrates the influence of the early Baroque / Dutch Golden age on this body of work. Third slide was beautifully framed by @hawkinsframing for a collector. . . . . . #analogphotography #largeformatphotography #alternativeprocessphotography #papernegative #flowers #mauitshuis #dutchgoldenage
