Just before Christmas, we were approached by Media Communications students Daisy Muchmore and Pippa Green from Bath Spa University who wanted to create a video on the Bath Safe Bus highlighting its role within the nighttime economy. š«¶š»
The original focus of the video was to showcase the Bath Safe Bus, however we felt it was important to highlight the work and collaboration of all partners in the nighttime economy who play a role in keeping people safe and supporting the Bath Safe Bus project.
Daisy and Pippa understood the brief and by working together we were able to create this amazing video promoting the Bath Safe Bus and the impact it is having supporting anyone who may become vulnerable.

Since launching, itās supported over 1,291 people, helped resolve 477 medical incidents, and saved an amazing Ā£218,943 in ambulance and A&E costs.
A brilliant example of how effective safe spaces can be supporting vulnerable people, easing pressure on emergency services, and helping create safer nights out for everyone. š«¶

Weāre excited to share some brilliant news ā @bathspauni has renewed its sponsorship of the Bath Safe Bus for another year! This continued support helps keep Bathās nighttime economy safer and more welcoming for everyone.
Since launching in March 2023, the Bath Safe Bus has supported 104 Bath Spa students needing medical or welfare assistance. Beyond responding to incidents, the Safe Bus helps students feel more confident navigating the city at night. The team attends their Freshersā Fair each year with Avon & Somerset Police.

Since launching in March 2023, the Bath Safe Bus has supported 264 University of Bath students who needed medical or welfare support. As well as providing help on the ground, the Safe Bus plays an important role in helping students feel confident and safe in the city. Each year, the team attends the Freshersā Fair alongside Avon and Somerset Police and have delivered night-time safety talks to students within the SU, focusing on how to stay safe while enjoying a night out in the city and where to turn for support if they ever feel vulnerable.
