2024! This year was challenging and inspiring all at once. It started with a move, went on to include 3 features, a smattering of shorts and commercials, 2 trips to California, countless smaller road trips, a public pitch at CIFF, and a heaping handful of lifelong friends. I’m so grateful for the amazing humans I’ve been privileged to have in my life this year and I look forward to showing up for you in 2025 in new and multitudinous ways.
I recently rediscovered this poem I wrote in 2017, and was struck by how a poem from 2 and a half years before lockdown, before so many other things fell apart, how familiar the sense of our being disconnected had already become after 2016. I think I slowed down on writing poetry not long after; maybe it felt like at some point in the spiral, it gets old to point out that we’re spiraling. Maybe trying to find the right words is more important than waiting for the perfect ones.
Had a magical morning shooting a little tone film today for the feature I’m pitching at Industry Days for CIX: Lab with @eeshapatkar this October!
