Build what you’d want to come back to. šŸŽ¬ Colin Parker joins me for a conversation about creative stamina, team chemistry, and the quiet work it takes to bring a project to life without burning out. We talk about structuring humane sets, using pitch decks as portals—not info dumps—and holding on to vision while staying open to change. Whether it’s a studio series or a self-funded short, Colin’s approach is grounded in clarity, flexibility, and taste over trend-chasing. šŸŽ§ If you’ve ever wondered how to lead with intention without losing momentum, this one’s for you. šŸ“© Send it to a friend building something slow but strong. Full episode wherever you listen.

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Chicago Industry Exchange Lab at the Chicago International Film Festival with my feature screenplay, Art of Alchemy. Since then @choppeproductions joined me as Producer and we’ve spent the past year refining the script with invaluable guidance from industry professionals. Now, we’ve submitted our proof of concept, @artofalchemy , to film festivals, started pitching the project to potential investors, and made significant strides with location scouting and casting. We’re also gearing up for a table read later this year.

My cousin Javier and I have been working on a documentary called ā€˜Boards Across Borders’. Over two years ago, Javier initiated the project where he donated skateboards from Chicago to Guatemala. Now, we’re delving into the diverse skate communities and the skaters that define them. A huge shoutout to our friend and collaborator, Gerardo, for his invaluable support in bringing this documentary to life. Also, immense gratitude to the incredible folks at ā€˜Fish Skate Shop’ in Guatemala City for taking the time to interview with us today and backing our project. Please check out their links and show your support for skateboarding! Word is fucking bond!
