Just returned from Jaipur after a magical week at Studio Ainak’s Rewrite residency (@studio.ainak ).
Had the pleasure of watching fellow mentors Atika @atika.chohan , Tushar @paranjapetushar and Gurvinder @forgetfulblink in action, and hope one day to be as fearless, confident and unapologetic as they are.
A big thank you to Suruchi @wahsuru for the hope with which she pursued her idea, and the generosity with which she made it so large that it could hold space for all of us. A special shout out to Anubha @_anubhayadav_ for documenting a rich array of writer experiences in her wonderful book.
So excited to know what comes next from all you talented participants who have been so vulnerable, courageous and passionate. One of you asked us what we learned, but I think I’m only just starting to fathom the tremendous scope of what has occurred. What began as a writing residency transformed into a community, a place of safety that so many of us have lost, or been distanced from, in these difficult two years.
It’s been incredible to laugh, cry and grow a little with you all.
