We’ve just returned from an inspiring week at @cartoon_media.eu Movie 2026 in Bordeaux, France. A major highlight for us at @basementng as we pitch “EJO,” an animated feature film we are co-producing with @animoonstudio , @specialtouchstudios and IYUGI. The project was nominated for the @eurimagescoe Council of Europe Co-production Development Award, an initiative by Eurimages and the Council of Europe that supports international co-productions at the earliest stages of development. Each year, only a small number of projects at Cartoon Movie are selected to compete for this recognition. To see EJO among them was an important milestone for the entire team. “EJO” is co-produced by Animoon, Basement Animation, Special Touch Studios, and IYUGI, with financing support from the Polish Film Institute. We’re grateful to everyone who has contributed to bringing this project this far and to the many partners and collaborators we connected with during the week. #BasementAnimation #EJO #CartoonMovie #Animation AfricanAnimation CoProduction AnimatedFeature

“EJO,” an animated feature film we are co-producing alongside @animoonstudio and @specialtouchstudios has been nominated for Eurimages 2026 during Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux. The project is among a select few competing for the Best Development Award as part of the Eurimages Co-production Development Award, an initiative that supports international co-productions from the earliest stages of development. Today marks the final stretch, the final pitch that will determine this year’s winner. Each year, approximately 50 to 100 feature-length animated films are produced in Europe. To have the development of “EJO” recognized in such a prestigious context is an important milestone for the entire team. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to bringing this project this far. Fingers crossed for the final pitch. Ejo is Co-produced by @animoonstudio , @basementng , @specialtouchstudios and financed by the Polish Film Institute. #basementanimation #EJO #cartoonmovie #eurimage #animationdevelopment

We’re excited to share the teaser for our upcoming feature animation project, “EJO.” Set in the midst of the Rwandan genocide, the story follows two children struggling to survive in a world that has suddenly lost all its rules. We’re beyond excited to share that “Ejo,” an animated feature film we are co-producing alongside @animoonstudio and @specialtouchstudios has been selected as one of 13 projects in development nominated for the Eurimages Co-production Development Award and will be pitched at Cartoon Movie 2026. Set in Rwanda during the summer of 1994, Ejo follows two children Didi (12) and Eric (8) who survived the genocide and are forced to journey together through a fractured land in search of food, shelter, and meaning. “ Ejo” tells a powerful story of trauma, resilience and hope. We are deeply proud to be co-producing a story of such depth and relevance. We look forward to sharing more as this journey unfolds. #basementanimation #ejo #cartoonmovie2026 #eurimagesaward #africananimation

Our Christmas dinner was everything and more.🎉 Smiling faces, beautiful outfits, plenty food, and a room filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine connection. The Secret Santa moment had thank yous and hugs flying around as thoughtful gifts were exchanged. We are growing, and so are our families, and that is something we are deeply grateful for. Of course, the kids were not left out. Santa showed up bearing gifts just for them too.🎁 From all of us at Basement Animation, we wish you a Merry Christmas in advance.

What a day at Creation Africa Lagos! ✨ I had such an inspiring time at the Creation Africa Lagos event on October 17th on behalf of my company @basementng surrounded by so many brilliant minds in film, animation, fashion, design, and tech, all passionate about shaping Africa’s creative future. 💫 It was refreshing to see conversations around collaboration, innovation, and storytelling — things that truly drive our creative industry forward.
