Tomorrow, Explorations in Scaling the Bespoke exhibition opens as part of Melbourne Design Week, presenting projects developed in collaboration with local artists, designers, and makers that translate multidisciplinary art and craft into bespoke interior design products.
Participants include: Alex Earl, Anna Finlayson, BAR Studio, Diego Faivre, DREZ, Geoff Nees, G.W. Bot, Manda Lane, RL Foote Design Studio, Robert Bridgewater and Will Eicholtz.

Rosana Saleme, BAR Studio’s Lighting Design Director, brings deep insight into how lighting shapes hospitality experiences. Rosana’s passion for bespoke lighting ensures that each design uniquely supports both the architecture and guest experience.
"When creating luxury hotel interiors, we develop carefully composed lighting designs that shape the overall guest experience. The distribution of light, contrast and shadow is fundamental to the character of a space and delivering the right mood. Layered lighting is used to create depth, visual comfort and a sense of spatial richness.
In our latest hotel project, Fairmont Tokyo, the lighting transitions beautifully from day to night, with warm layers of light that change the mood subtly from dawn to dusk. Several BAR Studio-designed bespoke lighting pieces add a decorative and dramatic effect. A highlight is a custom chandelier at Level 43’s DRIFTWOOD bar, incorporating illuminated bubble-texture resin for a softly-lit ambience.”

The Ritz-Carlton Club, the hotel’s lounge exclusive to Club guests, takes inspiration from the establishment clubs of Melbourne that dot the city’s “Paris end”. McRae Bar at Capella Sydney is a study in adaptive re-use. Framed by the historic built fabric of a former government building, the bar creates a mood that speaks to the old and the new, and showcases a hand painted mural by Otis Hope Carey.
