A recap of bringing the industry together for the launch of Bar-Fabric STUDIO in Malaysia by Brown-Forman brands last month. In collaboration with @drinksconnexion , @barpahit , we teamed up to create a space at Pahit as a gathering point for the hospitality community — where bartenders, chefs, operators, and industry friends could come together to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate what drives the scene forward. The afternoon began with dishes by @honeyintherockpj and @tableandapron , followed by two panel sessions featuring voices from both the restaurant and bar worlds. And the night ended on a high note — with a full bar and kitchen takeover by @soka_blr , currently ranked #28 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025. Our first conversation, “Building Brands That Last: Beyond the Opening Hype,” with panelists @sarahtanweiling @chefsombir @mylow86 , explored what it takes to move past the buzz of opening — and instead build something that evolves, stays relevant, and continues to resonate over time. We then shifted focus to “Beyond the Bar: Opportunities, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Careers,” moderated by Tien, host of the @chewonthis_podcast with panelists @avinashkapoli @cy_shawn @joshua_ivanovic — opening up a wider discussion on growth and longevity within the industry. When @barpahit hosts a takeover, you know it’s going to be a night. This time, @barfabric landed in KL with @soka_blr for a full bar & kitchen takeover. Also great to reunite with @avinashkapoli after a year. Always a pleasure watching familiar face behind the bar. ✨ My personal highlight? The Pi Pi Martini. Tried it once… and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. 🍸 Food-wise: 🦐 Prawn Sando 🍛 SOKA Outlaw Briyani The flavours are bold, layered, and the kind that stay on your mind long after the night ends.
