Different concept; working directly with car brand BYD. The project; produce a 5 min car film in the outback. Create a launch event to premier it at. Fly in 80 influencers + clients. Create a 2nd stunt film to align to look as though the cars entertaining on the night just did the stunt. And film a live broadcoast of the event in real time, to stream into 67 dealerships hosting mini events. Eaassssy. 6-8 weeks of prep work done in just 2.2 weeks; sign off to event day. Shoot + event weekend = Flew into outback Sat morn for the first and only recce. Shot 2 x films the Sunday. Edited both in 24 hours across the Mon with a 10:30pm F2F client meet. Hosted event, played films live and filmed broadcast Tues. 67 awake working hrs pulled across just 4 days. In the end we just created some car ads and event. It’s not the sexiest project. But 90% of people asked to do that gig with all the asks vs time challenges would have said fuck no. These misfits said fuck yeah; @camerondanzey , @katie.taylor____ , @_mhopkinsfp , @michaela_le_ , @harleigh_english , @calebgrahamfilms , @matuafilm , @mattscottchow , @duncanunderwood , @chrisgrundyphoto , @liamtheseamonkey , @80iesbaby , @jackchristopherdavid Some jobs are cooler than others, while others are about the puzzle of turning tossed around words into reality and it is only possible in the coming together of great humans, organised teamwork and true creative collaboration. I’ll remember this one for the craziness of what we pulled off and the little team moments through it; seeing the team giving each other constant high fives, gearing each other up to keep the energy flowing, the BTS moments of the team watching people watch their work, and the team having a beer + hugging saying “we fucking actually did it!” at 11pm on the Tues while Dazza Braithwaite finished up Horses. Warmed my heart this week to learn the level of what was achieved was nominated for a major industry award for such wizardry efforts. Congrat’s you legends, much love. Always a pleasure.
