❄️⛄️ When we heard that @twinklresources were launching a Frozen-themed competition with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a trip to @disneyland — and even sing with @katherinejenkinsobe #🎵🎤 — we knew we had to go for it!
The brief? Bring the energy and enthusiasm… something Barnham has in abundance! ✨❤️
On the last day of term, we brought our choir together for something truly special. With huge thanks to Hannah and the amazing team at @theelitestudioea , the children were treated to hair and makeup ready for filming 🎀💋 — and they absolutely loved it!
But we didn’t stop there… how could we make it even more magical?
By transforming our very own teachers — Miss Bacon as Elsa ❄️ and Miss Cross @_tarasteaching as Anna 👑!
In true Barnham spirit, it was a full team effort from start to finish. The children shone, embraced every moment, and threw themselves into both the performance and all the activities that came with it. Thank you, @twinkl , for such an inspiring opportunity!
This reel captures just a glimpse of the joy, creativity, and sparkle ✨
Now… fingers and toes crossed for us! 🤞
Good luck to everyone who entered — and to our incredible choir, we are always so proud of you 💙#twinkl #competitions #schoolchoir #energyandenthusiasm
🌟 Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🌟
Today (and every day!) we celebrate and thank all the amazing teachers at Barnham Primary School – and teachers everywhere 👏💛
In our Celebration Collective Worship on Friday, we shared our appreciation with a special round of applause (and plenty of cheering 🎉). Each teacher received a small gift — a beautifully designed plant pot 🌿, lovingly created by our talented Year 6 pupils with help from our artistic TA, Miss Tuffen 🎨. The children were so proud to present them to their teachers!
We are truly grateful for our dedicated, inspiring, and caring teaching team who work tirelessly to support, nurture and believe in every child. 💫
Thank you to Miss Jarvis, Miss Anderson, Mrs Fleet, Miss Cross, Mr Holman, Mrs Kennedy, Miss Bacon, and Mrs Arnold — you are the heart of Barnham 💚
Wishing all our wonderful teachers a well-deserved and relaxing Sunday! ☀️🌼

We are SO incredibly proud of all of our amazing Year 6 children for completing their SATs this week! 🌟📚✏️
They have truly shown just how hard they’ve been working and tackled every challenge with determination, resilience and smiles on their faces — absolute superstars! ⭐👏
At the start of the week, we wrote each child a special letter which was waiting for them on their lockers 💌 We hope these messages of positivity, encouragement and belief carried them through the week and reminded them just how amazing they are. We are beyond proud of every single one of them! ❤️
To celebrate all of their hard work, the children enjoyed some well-deserved time at the park this afternoon 🌳☀️😊
Well done, Year 6 — you smashed it! 🎉

Today we marked International Nurses Day in a truly special way 💙
We were delighted to welcome a very special visitor — Max and Fern’s mum, Ali — who kindly spent time with us sharing all about her important role working on the Rainbow Ward at West Suffolk Hospital 🏥
Ali helped us understand why today is so significant, as it would have been the birthday of Florence Nightingale, and we were set a brilliant challenge to learn more about how Nightingale used mathematics and statistics to transform nursing 📊✨
We talked about the many qualities that make an excellent nurse — kindness, dedication, resilience, and compassion — and Ali reminded us that to be a great nurse, you must work hard at practising kindness every single day 💛
We’re pretty sure Ali has inspired the next generation of nurses today 🌟 Thank you so much for sharing with us! We were also very grateful that Ali brought special stickers for every child — a small gesture that meant so much to us 😊
We are proud to have lots of nurses in our Barnham School community and want to say a huge thank you to each of you and nurses everywhere for the incredible care you give each and every day. We applaud and appreciate you more than words can say 👏💙
If you have an interesting job and would like to come into school and inspire our children in future carers, we would love to hear from you!

Our grateful thanks also goes to Kate Stephenson, who is William and Ada’s mum in Badger Class, for a truly inspiring visit to school. 🌿✨
Kate came in to talk to the children about her work with National Geographic and her role as a conservationist and environmental journalist. The children were incredibly curious and asked some outstanding questions throughout — it was wonderful to see such genuine interest and engagement. 💭🌍
Kate shared fascinating insights into her career, including the people she meets, the wildlife she encounters, and even her experiences meeting Sir David Attenborough and working alongside him over the years. 🦒📸
She spoke about why this is such a rewarding and exciting career, and helped the children understand the skills needed to follow a similar path, including curiosity, strong observation, and excellent writing skills. She also gave some brilliant practical tips on how to write engaging articles that really capture a reader’s attention. ✍️✨
We are especially grateful that Kate kindly donated copies of her book, meaning every child in Year 5 and Year 6 has a copy to bring home. 📚💛 Miss Bacon read it over the Easter break and would thoroughly recommend it — do borrow it from your child or read it together as a family!
Kate was absolutely fascinating, and we hope to have the opportunity to work with her again in the future to further develop our children’s writing and inspire them to become even more engaging authors. 🌿📝
A huge thank you once again for such a memorable and enriching experience. 💚

Sir David Attenborough has travelled all over the world, sharing the wonders of nature from every corner of the globe. 🌍✨
One of our questions to the children on Friday was: If you could travel anywhere, which part of the world would you want to see? The answers were fascinating — from the Amazon Rainforest to South Korea, with a Safari in Africa also being a very popular choice! 🦜🌿🦒
We might not be able to travel quite that far, but we love to make learning as memorable as possible — so we were delighted to establish a live link to Mozambique! 💻🌍
We were so privileged to video call Bruce Missing (uncle of Olivia-Belle and Noah) who joined us from Mozambique. Bruce works with the Peace Parks Foundation, based around protected areas such as the Maputo Special Reserve, and his work focuses on anti-poaching and protecting endangered wildlife. 🐘🦏🌿
Bruce shared his incredible experiences as a Counter Poaching Coordinator and also talked about his more recent role training anti-poaching dogs. He introduced us to his current canine “sidekick”, Matimba, who is still in training — including some amazing clips of Matimba’s very first helicopter ride and his first encounter with an elephant! 🚁🐕🐘
The children were completely gripped by his engaging presentation as they learned about the realities of protecting wildlife, including the serious issue of rhino poaching, and the wide-ranging work being done through both physical protection and collaboration with local communities. 🌿🦏
A particularly special moment was seeing a photograph of an orphaned rhino being cared for, wrapped in a blanket lovingly crocheted by Bruce’s mum. 💚🦏
A huge thank you to Bruce for inspiring our children to dream big — perhaps one day some of them will have a green career helping to protect animals and the environment too! 🌍
We hope we might be able to hear more updates from you again in the future. Keep playing your part in helping to save the animals in our world! 🦒🐆

Friday was a truly perfect afternoon for Year 5 to head out to Forest School on David Attenborough Day — and we’re certain Sir David himself would have loved to join them! 🌿☀️
Blessed with beautiful weather, the children spent the afternoon fully immersed in nature, exploring the outdoors and embracing every moment of their Forest School adventure. From gathering around the fire to cooking delicious garlic flatbreads, the afternoon was filled with excitement, teamwork and plenty of smiles. 🔥🥖😊
Forest School is always packed with adventure, but it also provides fantastic physical activity and opportunities for personal development. The children enjoyed a long walk across the fields to reach the site (and of course the journey back again!), climbed trees, explored the woodland and breathed in lots of fresh country air along the way. 🌳🚶♀️🌾
Experiences like these help children to build confidence, resilience and a deeper appreciation for the natural world around them. By Friday evening, we suspect there were some very tired children — and perhaps some very grateful parents too! 😂
We are delighted that there will be many more opportunities for Forest School adventures throughout the summer term. 💚

A huge thank you to Megan (mum of Minnie and Rogan) who kindly gave up her morning to bring in their beautiful pony, Heidi, to meet every child in the school! 🐴☀️This special visit was also part of our Sir David Attenborough celebrations, helping children to learn more about animals, nature and the world around them through real-life experiences. 🌍🦋
We were blessed with a wonderfully sunny morning and each class had the opportunity to spend time with Heidi, learning fascinating facts about horses and ponies and making links to their science learning. The children asked some fantastic questions and showed such curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the morning! 💭✨
One brilliant question was: “How many hands is Heidi?” Did you know that horses and ponies are measured in hands? Heidi is 13 hands tall! 🐎📏
We would also like to apologise in advance for any children who came home asking for a pet pony! 😂 Heidi was truly beautiful and so well-behaved all morning long — a real star of the day! ⭐
Thank you again, Megan and Heidi, for giving our children such a memorable and educational experience. 💛

We celebrated the birthday of Sir David Attenborough by planting a beautiful mix of trees across on our school grounds 🌳💚
Our pupils planted lime, Norway maple, silver birch and tulip trees, helping to increase the biodiversity of our site and create natural shade for generations to come.
We’ve pledged to care for and water our new trees as they grow, nurturing a greener future together 🌱
To give them the very best start, each tree was planted with raw sheep’s wool, which helps retain water and naturally releases nitrogen to support healthy growth. 🐑✨

🦁🐍🌿 We had an AMAZING time celebrating David Attenborough Day with The Animal Experience and the wonderful Kayleigh! 🌍✨
Kayleigh was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating facts about all the amazing animals we met. Our children were thrilled to see — and even touch and hold — a Meerkat, Tenrec, Blue Tongued Skink, Royal Python, Chinchilla and a tortoise! 🐾💚
The children were so brave and absolutely loved getting up close to the animals. Their excitement and curiosity were wonderful to see! 🥰👏
To make the experience even more special, Kayleigh and the Royal Python had actually met Sir David Attenborough himself! 🌟 What an unforgettable connection to such an inspiring day.
Thank you to @theanimalexperienceuk and Kayleigh for such a memorable visit! 🐢🐍✨
