While we were down at the @raa_regionalarchitecture ‘Beginnings’ event on the Shoalhaven river this weekend, we got news that our Artie Smith AFL/Cricket pavilion, in association with LocalArchitect South Coast, won TWO awards at the Country Division Architecture awards for ‘Public Architecture’ and ‘Vision’. architecturensw
A big thanks to all those involved in making this project a winner: Stu from Ayling + Drury Landscape Architecture to get the project initiated and give a natural balance to the building, Shoalhaven city council to provide the opportunity and allow the design to follow its wanted path, and especially Wes from LocalArchitect for inviting us to collaborate on this and driving the ship. And to the extensive team of consultants that are too many to list here.
This project has been our largest and most public to date and it’s good to know our enthusiasm for the built result is shared. We look forward to this place opening to the public soon, and hoping it can provide a positive gathering and cheering place for the sporting community of Bomaderry and all they play against. We can’t wait to watch some games with the Bomaderry Tigers flying around the turf and floating balls between the big sticks.

Enjoyed a great weekend with two other monkeys, in and out of creeks, on and off tracks, lost and found. Never been to the nattai before, but it’s all a strange mix of carnage and beauty, burnt towering trees and fields of dense regrowth you can drown in. Heaps of land slips. Sooo many wildflowers up higher without the normal canopy. And the creeks are crystal, and flowing, and pretty warm.
Thrilling progress at the Coledale house this week… @greensmithco@daneblightpainting@mt.tiling #fruit_tingles #australianarchitecture #coastalarchitecture #polychromy #structuralcolour
These old floorboards on the new ceiling, were pulled out of the 90yr old house that had to make way, cleaned up a little bit, and used in this super duper new home, to be enjoyed for another century hopefully. All done by the owner, love the commitment shown, and we do love having those generational threads of material wisdom that connect different building eras on a site. Built by @greensmithco
