Weâre talking the carry-on essentials that make every trip better!
From a good book to switch off, noise cancelling headphones to tune out, and hydration to keep you feeling your best. Staying entertained and refreshed while travelling isnât a luxury, itâs the secret to arriving ready!
This stunning 8-page spread, written by one of Australiaâs most talented travel writers, @dilvinyasa , draws you into the steamy rainforests of Costa Rica from word one. This engaging tale appears in the May issue of Qantas magazine. It was a delight working again with Dilvin who we organised to join a tour for client @gocollette . Her story immerses readers in the natural beauty of Costa Rica, while showcasing the positive aspects of small group touring, as she takes us through lush landscapes, volcanic vistas and unforgettable sloth encounters!
This is a perfect example of how impactful storytelling can inspire, captivate, and transport readers well beyond the page and reinforces that investment in a strong earned media program can deliver in spades.
Â
A shout out to the wonderful editorial team at the magazine @genevra_leek and @katrina.obrien36 for bringing this tale to life.
That moment when you finally get to a bucket list destination and breathe out, where the water is truly as blue and clear and warm as you dreamed it would be, and the powdery sand is too soft to offend it by going anything but barefoot â for days on end. So went my recent famil to the Maldives to host five amazing female journalists (now lovingly known as the Mal-Divas) to experience the new @nhcollectionmaldivesreethi courtesy of our client, @minorhotels .
Â
One of the growing hotel groupâs nine properties in the country, Reethi in the stunning Baa Atoll (a UNESCO protected biosphere) has been completely re-designed. The villas are breezy and quietly stylish â ours had a path beckoning you to the beach and an open air bathroom â smartly designed to balance the other end of the villa - which demanded relaxation under the rainhead shower or in the satisfyingly deep bath surrounded by seafoam green tiles. There are eight (count them!) restaurants and bars which meant we never went hungry and there was even a rum bar serving the resortâs very tasty island rum which is aged under the water just off the beach.
Â
And when you are not eating or lounging by the pool, or slipping back a cocktail there is plenty to explore underwater with snorkelling on rotation â we swam with the most delicate of turtles and incredible marine life and cruised beside the high flying delightful little spinner dolphins.

All I can say is amaze, amaze, amaze (IYKYK) đ Thanks to @anabel.dean20@jeniodowd@sallyhunwick@narellebouveng_@nadine.morton.journalist

The future of ultra-luxury cruising in our region has never looked brighter.
Â
Over the past two weeks, weâve hosted four standout events celebrating whatâs ahead for high-end cruising â the good news - traveller demand shows no signs of slowing down in this part of the world.
Itâs been a privilege to partner with the incredible team at @regentcruises , including new President Wesley DâSilva, @lisajpile , @theintrepidtraveller and events guru @just_events_jc .
Â
From a produce-driven culinary adventure at @origine.nz in the heart of Auckland with leading NZ travel media, to stepping aboard the reimagined Seven Seas Mariner on her 154-day World Voyage for suite tours and lunch in Compass Rose â every moment has showcased Regentâs commitment to next-level luxury.
Â
In Sydney, we continued the celebrations with a chic media lunch at @bennelong_sydney , nestled inside the sails of the @sydneyoperahouse , before returning onboard Seven Seas Mariner for an intimate media dinner framed by those quintessential harbour views.
Â
Next up: Regentâs tenth anniversary celebrations in April and the highly anticipated launch of Seven Seas Prestige in December. Watch this space.

Lights, camera⌠destination đŹ
With the buzz of last nightâs Oscar Awards, weâre reminded that some of the most iconic films donât just tell stories, they are love letters to destinations and transport us around the world.
From wandering the streets of Paris in Midnight in Paris, to exploring the neon nightlife of Tokyo in Lost in Translation, dancing through the Greek islands in Mamma Mia!, soaking up the energy of one of Spainâs most vibrant cities in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, or experiencing the vast landscapes in Out of Africa, film has a way of turning destinations into feelings.
Because sometimes, the best travel inspiration starts on screen. We would love to hear what your favourite âdestinationâ movies are.
Where are you travelling to this year?
Hear from these real life âEmmy worthyâ celebrities and sometimes travel PR people as to where they are headed.
Whatever gives you inspiration we reckon!âď¸
Oh and stay tuned for our bloopers!
A huge thank you to @nwayland and the team at @travmedia for delivering another standout IMM event. The Summit gave us some great food for thought and it was exciting for our new client Vail Resorts @whistlerblackcomb to hear about @fifa and the welcome that SBS presenter @claudes__ received in Vancouver and Whistler recently.
The media day didnât disappoint either â 24 great speed dating appointments â an incredibly productive way to introduce @claireakirk and @snococo to a wonderful line-up of ANZ media.
A huge shout out to @anthonytraveled at @travellerau and @peterchook for taking home the media and PR gongs respectively this year â so well deserved.
Thanks also to all the writers who took the time to meet with us outside of IMM for one on one appointments in Sydney and Melbourne.
Thought we would collect some of our favourite places to sip and sup in Sydney as road tested by our team recently.
Â
Start your day at brunch at Sydneyâs hottest cafĂŠ @happyfieldofficial . Still the best pancakes in town for our money. Or try their new Happy Shop for beignets and coffee for a great way to fuel up your day.
Â
Want a side of fabulous fashion with your beverage? Head to @chinatowncountryclub . Pictured here are the MOON RIVER - Single origin cold brew, maple cream float & orange blossom and the NITRO ICED MATCHA Matcha powder, Canadian maple syrup & oat milk. Just yes!
Â
We also visited two great Mediterranean restaurants recently - @hamsitaverna at the new @sydneyfishmarket . Brilliant dishes with great service and a side of Sydney views thrown in. @watermanssydney at Barangaroo is the new addition to the famed Bentley Group and this one doesnât disappoint either. From the âcigarsâ filled with feta and topped with caper leaves and a cherry to the chicken with olives and lemon and outstanding desserts, it should be a Sydney must do!
Â
If drinking and making drinks is more your style then head to @archierosedistillingco at Rosebery where they run whisky tasting and whisky blending classes but also have a damned fine bar!
Â
Off for more now â enjoy your Friday Fun Day!
What do cheesy toast, ski slopes and Angus Taylor have in common. Read on friends. When Bill Heinecke, founder of our client, @minorhotels visited Sydney last week, Barking Owl set up a schedule of meetings with the business media. Bill was brimming with interesting news for the journalists. He mentioned the growth of the company with plans for 860 hotels by 2028, discussing plans for new hotels from key brands â Avani (Mooloolaba and Wollongong), NH Collection (downtown Sydney) and NH and Oaks (Sydney Airport). He spoke of the importance of wellness travel, the true meaning of luxury for travellers and the rise of Residences attached to their Anantara properties in places like Phuket.
Â
But what we didnât know was that the mention of the return of vintage brand, Sizzler would be the game changer. From a fab piece by Carolyn Cummins at the @sydneymorningherald the news caught fire on socials, digital media and even made it to the 4pm and 6pm news broadcasts.
Â
It only sat behind the Liberal Party leadership spill and the Olympics on Friday as the most read story. It was nostalgia for the win and we were delighted to have played our part!
