New jazz brunch who dis? Excited to announce that NEXT Sunday May 24th I'm gonna bring my trio into Bar DKDC on Cooper in the heart of Cooper Young every Sunday. DKDC has been a spill over for The Beauty Shop's amazing long standing brunch. If you've ever been you know the food is top notch. Really excited about this collab and I think this is a cool landing spot after our last nearly 12 year run ended earlier this year. The band will consist of drum stalwart Tom Lonardo and a new face on the scene Halimah Muhammad on bass. We will play two sets starting at noon and we plan on opening up the second set for sit ins so bring your horn!!

Join us for the second volume of MUSE:SOUND, a collaborative & improvisational soundscape experience led by musicians @v3000 and @kzmusique at @bar_dkdc on Monday, June 8, 2026.
We invite musicians, producers, instrumentalists, vocalists, and curious spectators to immerse themselves in the energy of collective sound, shaped in real-time.
The soundscape will begin with a single note from each of the two featured musicians, setting the tone. Attendees are then invited to join in intuitively, adding their own sounds to build evolving layers of collaborative music.
Bring your instrument of choice. Whether you’re wielding a drum, trumpet, a guitar, a synth, a sampler, a voice, a laptop with a DAW, or simply your ears, you’re welcome.

Introducing the next member of the 2026 VOX cohort: Kierstyn. Kierstyn is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and currently works as a legal assistant at a family law firm. They are also a live music and event photographer, and is part of the team that runs the Memphis Dyke Night every second Thursday of the month at Bar DKDC!
