Diaries of Destruction is a collaborative project led by Elif Yalvaç with noise, dark ambient, metal and avant-garde influences, currently with herself on baritone guitar and electronics, and Jordan Muscatello on bass. They design and make "psychogeographic" art synths inspired by the dark histories of specific locations. Their instruments translate historical trauma and atmospheric data into noisy sonic textures, bleeps, random chaos, and musical sounds. Day or Night? I liked these two subjects in one of my past illustrations, so I pulled them out and rebuilt them into something that can stand on its own. Goodbye to the snake that walked with us through the past year. I had to go inward and sit with a few feelings I’d been dodging, the ones that slowly turn into blocks. At some point they started to feel heavy, like I was carrying them on purpose. Reframing my objective and letting go of a couple of obsessions wasn’t just relief. It was a quiet, scary act of trust, in myself and in the direction I’m moving toward. Someone told me last year that fear of the future is often just a lack of confidence in your own capacity. Not fear of what might happen, but doubt that you’ll be able to handle it. Looking back from where I am now, I’ve handled quite a bit.. #baosgraph #YearOfTheSnake #illustration

Some glimpses of the Altar Piece created for @aguaterragathering at @houseoftherisingmojo last August. A moment held close to the heart. Deep gratitude to @alexandra.blake.alden , whose flowers gave the final breath to this piece, binding it all together. To @noa.bromberg for the generous hands and curious spirit. Just landing back from the fantastic experience at @coracaodecacaupt . I had the pleasure to design and build the stage for this festival full of love. Still reflecting on how this opportunity came to me and how such a simple gesture can unlock a chain effect and open new pathways for our life. Got back a bit on playing with clay the past month. I had this sketch in my sketchbook and i know I wanted to turn it into something more three-dimensional. I wasn't expecting it to come out so nicely and survive the kiln. Not sure if this would become a candle holder, the base for a lamp or something else.. do you have any advice?
