ARTIST/DESIGNER @bancdetouche.objects
Under the name of Banc de Touche, Matisse and Ben, a duo made up of an architect and an artist and artisanal ironworker, share a common vision of design. Based in Brussels, they make everyday objects and furniture for the home. They make everything themselves in their workshop in Anderlecht, with an aesthetic based on simple assembly and playful construction, all in powder-coated steel.
The first object was made from scraps found in their workshop and is inspired by traditional Japanese wooden stools. This bench reflects their approach to design: creating everyday objects that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, while reusing available materials.
