This mermaid started as a random sketch in my sketchbook. Slowly became an oil painting over a couple of weeks. Hope you like her. I’m kinda scared of her. She’s more dangerous than she looks.

This week I got to be a guest in Mrs. Ligon’s 5th grade art classes at Allendale Elementary. (My wife is a T.A. there). I talked about my career in animation, did drawing demos and taught them how to draw a couple of Disney characters. Fun week! The kids were excited and full of great questions! (Since today is the first day of #MerMay, I drew Ariel, even though I didn’t work on the movie). Thank you Mrs. Ligon for inviting me!! @messykelli

A couple weeks ago I painted a live model at @warehouse521 , and really liked the pose she took. So working from the painting I did that evening, I made some changes and voilá! A Mermaid!
