if you don't know already, last week was my last at NYLON. i was lucky enough to get to grow up there for over two years—from interning, to freelancing, to getting hired as their staff writer—but after the brand was acquired, I and a few other amazing creatives were laid off.
i loved the NYLON that i worked for, and the freedom i was given to grow. i got to write arts, culture, entertainment, music, beauty, fashion, sex, and wellness features, and i learned how to be a news writing expert. i was trusted with all of our branded content, from brainstorming ideas to writing the editorial and social posts. i got to work with a team of brilliant women, many of whom were also queer, and i got to feel empowered by them and their brilliance every day.
also, i got to be hired by
@gabriellekorn !!! i'm so lucky for what she gave me opportunity to do so fresh out of college, and i'm proud of what i made of it. if you told my middle- or high- school self that i would one day be working for the publication i worshipped, she would not believe you. i did my job with her in mind.
now, because i have absolutely no idea what to do with all this free time and also because i love what i do, i'm looking for work!! i learned how to be a very versatile writer while at NYLON and i'm ready to make some more things. i'm actively looking for another full-time role but i'm also v excited to be freelancing for the time being. hit me UP! my email address is in my bio.
