My engineer for over 10 years. Thats a long time… so you’re basically like my therapist. The person that pushes me to the very limits of what I think I can do. A good engineer listens but also makes suggestions when needed… and is much more than just a button pusher. You’re like my sonic translator, who helps me capture these weird, wacky and adventurous thoughts that run through my head.
This Grammy journey doesn’t happen without you. The long sessions, the sacrifices, the faith when momentum wasn’t guaranteed… my man, you showed up every time, not just with skill and talent, but with belief in the music and in me.
We didn’t come home with the trophy this time, but we won. We made something honest, joyful, and meaningful, and DOPE….and something that lasts forever. I’m incredibly proud of what we built together.
You want more for me than I even want for myself most days. You believe I can do things I’m not even sure I can do.
There’s not a lot of people in this world that can begin to understand the relationship between an artist and engineer, it’s really special…. Like a barber probably, maybe even more special.
